Where Is My Red Carpet?

Oct21_005

Mami Jewell of Azul is one of the go-to designers for red carpet events. Her gowns are always luxurious, dramatic and perfect for grand occasions. So, I don’t have a grand occasion to go to and no one is laying out the red carpet for me, but I decided to wear it anyway – just because it is so gorgeous and I am thrilled to see her moving into mesh creation. I chose to wear the new Adam n Eve lace glove applier for SLink hands – not because of any problem with the Azul gloves, but just to make sure folks know they have this option for their Slink hands.

Feeling (f)risqué

13 August 21

I kind of fell in love with the ISON Razzle pants and vest for Collabor88. They come separately so they can be mixed and matched. They come in six colors, black, white, gray, camel, green and blue, making them great foundation pieces for your wardrobe. I am a bit of pixel prude, so when I went to The Velvet last night, I added this lovely wrap from One Bad Pixel for a more discreet look.

However, daring fashionistas that don’t mind risking a little slip here and there, can war just the vest. Frankly both the One Bad Pixel wrap top and the Ison Razzle vest fit so well, i didn’t bother with the alpha layers.

Little Greenie, I Will Always Be Your Fool

There was an AREA 51 themed party this weekend at The Garden to celebrate this month’s theme, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted to be a poodle skirt diner girl or an alien. I dithered and went back and forth. The best part was, I was putting it all together from fun new and old items in my inventory – proof positive that you don’t have to go out and bankrupt yourself to participate in fun theme events. Dancing And Pool Parties

I logged in for Cajsa’s smooth jazz set on Sunday and she said “Put on your swimsuit.”

Handily, I had just picked a new one up at Fameshed from Valentina E.  I thought it was kind of adorable because it included a cover up so it was perfect.

The Velvet had added an outdoor pool of eclectic elegance so it was a relaxing morning of floating and dancing while we shook off our Sunday lethargy.

When I didn’t feel like swimming, the cover-up still provided a pool party appropriate look without my bootie hanging out. Continue reading

Not Your Grandma’s Porcelain Doll

jul13_017

I love how the ultra modern shape of this jacket with its extreme shoulder and the bold, urban cut of the pants with  zippered legs are merged with the ultimate in delicacy and tradition, the ancient art of  blue and white porcelain. When a designer can take such dichotomous threads and weave them into a coherent design, that’s magic.

Let There Be Luz

jul13_003

I was searching on Marketplace, on the hunt for a jacket. I have no idea why this came up in my search, but I am happy it did. It’s a lovely skirt and tunic mesh dress (one piece) from LuzieFree Designs by Luzie Cheng. While she has obviously been around a long time, this was my first time seeing her work. As you can see, the looks is summer cool and casual, loose and with thin, light fabric. I love the design and the print side panel. Some of the details are just amazing.

Damselfly Returns To My Shopping List

Everybody has that store, that store you USED to shop at. Damselfly was my GO TO for big old floofy “TEXAS PAGEANT HAIR” and it was awesome. Truly, I was a major fan and flocked over to pick up every release I could. While I’m positive by the amount of FLEXI one sees in ballrooms that big flowy hair still has it’s audience, in order to keep my Fashion Mafia card I had to move on to mesh.

And said fair thee well to Damselfly. Continue reading

Vacation Clothes

Growing up we had a family tradition of vacationing at the Gulf of Mexico. All people from Indiana do so, from what I can tell. Once we had settled into our hotel, my mother and I traditionally went to a ladies “beach store” and we each got one nice sundress, matching flip flops and sometimes a necklace.

Shell necklace obviously. Continue reading

Shaping Up for Summer – A Shape Review for Tuli Shape #4

Both pixel and RL Gidge hate deciding what to wear. When I say hate, I mean dislike with the fire of 1000 suns. It’s not that we don’t WANT to get dressed and be cute. It’s that, there’s decisions. And more decisions. Pixel Gidge has an inventory the size of the grid. And RL Gidge isn’t much better.

Thus we both tend to sit about not quite done, wondering what to put on next.

That’s why I’m blogging SHAPE and UNDERWEAR TODAY!  Continue reading

Form & Function

mouse_dressform4

There are some things in SL that just strike my fancy.  The dress form is one of them. I love dress forms.  I love that creators are whimsical enough to create dress forms.  This month has seen an abundance of them.  Allegory Malaprop of Schadenfreude and Julliette Westerburg of Tres Blah both released dress forms as part of their Arcade Gacha items. Sienia Trevellion of Lark also released a lovely dress form and I pulled an older version that I’m particularly fond of out of my inventory, one by Theosophy’s Trace Osterham.
