New Darker Tones for SLINK Visage Head

I used to work with a girl whose mother was a very pale, freckled Irish redhead. Her father was a black as night Colombian. Finding makeup with a nightmare for her.  Her skin tone was dark but pale, and everything looked wrong. I remember when her tone of foundation was discontinued, she was distraught.

You see a lot of complaining in SL about dark skin tones, or the lack thereof, but at least it’s not a problem we MUST live with. We can try new things, branch out, and flip into different colors on a whim.

The Elie dress from Sundaara for fashionart – a celebration of the nexus of art and fashion – is as sweet and lovely as a summer cloud.

I just noticed that Akismet has protected us from 1,671,953 spam comments so far since we migrated over here about two years ago. 1,671,953! Imagine that. Such a big number It reminds me of my 7th and 8th grade math teacher, a vicious and physically abusive bully I still hate to this day even though he reserved most of his physical abuse for the boys. Before Christmas vacation, he challenged one of my classmates to write out from one to a million in long hand – telling him if he completed it by the end of the school year, he would pay him $1000. Of course, Phillip had no concept of how much a million really was, so he tried. He wrote out the numbers day in and day out for months, neglecting his homework, not paying attention in class, getting in trouble at home and on the wrestling team and generally making a mess of his 7th grade year. All seeking that $1000 and realizing far too late and after far too much damage to his school year that he would never make it. A million is a vast sum in human terms and we all certainly learned that lesson quite thoroughly though at the cost of a classmate’s education and reputation. Continue reading →

What color is fire?

What color is fire? It’s not just orange, it’s also red, black, yellow, blue, purple and even green. That is if you watch it and really look at the colors leap and flicker and shift as it gets more or less oxygen and rises hotter or burns lower. I know this dress from Snowpaws is awash in florals, but it reminds me of fire – perhaps flowers on fire.

The Most Important Top On The Grid

My entire outfit was planned around this bandeau from Tres Blah which is new for Collabor88. The colors offered are gorgeous and subtle, and this is a perfect wardrobe pick up because it’s a summer staple. It can go under blazers, and with long swishy skirts. You can dress it up or down and it’s a perfect compliment to our never ending beach party than is Second Life. Well, some of us anyway.

There were also shoes, and tights, but that doesn’t matter now. ALL that matters is this top. You see, I started with the top. I built everything around the top. The top was my focus.

Hoarders: The SL Edition

Monica Outlander made this stunning gown with the peacock print insets, releasing them at the Fashion Pride event in March. She produced it in several colors, but my favorite is this gorgeous royal blue.

 

I admit I am an SL hoarder. I have items in my inventory from 2007. In fact, I am wearing items from 2007 in this picture. Now, I am not the worst. I do throw things out. Pose stands, landmarks, notecards are ruthlessly trashed. All my shoes with invisiprims have been deleted. Pants with sculpted bottoms and prim flap skirts – gone! Full bright hair – done! Bling – get outta here! But then, I falter.

I think Monica Outlander makes more use of materials than any other fashion designer. You can see her fascination with its possibilities in almost everything she makes.

 

But how could anyone delete something as gorgeous as this gown? Even if I never wear it again, I might. You never know, right?

Does This Mesh Make My Butt Look Big?

GOOD.

I have resisted the big butt because I just hadn’t seen one yet that really quite did it for me. I didn’t DISLIKE them I just was MEH, and thus didn’t warrant picking one up. But I was having a Gidgey moment this morning that Sasy was helping me with, and I thought DAMN Sasy looks cute.

I didn’t really realize that she was wearing a mesh butt, her butt looked good but in a subtle way – bigger, rounder, super sexy but not so big I couldn’t stop staring at the butt. And with that she and I were off to demo butts.

Sileny made, at the request of her daughter, a bunch of brows in fun candy colors with a Morticia Addams severity to them. If you were a 20 something in the 90s you knew 20 girls who drew on their brows like that. Now they’re in their 40s and sad that they have no eyebrows. But that’s a different story. Old Things and New Things

I have to confess to being a hoarder in SL. Ok maybe a bit in RL. But this year I’m trying to change that, and I’ve already taken my inventory from 114k to 110k by picking a letter of the Alphabet and ruthlessly deleting. I’ve also done some foldering, which if you know me is a min miracle.

While rummaging though, I realize I’ve got every farking dress Baiastice ever made including all from her PRE-MESH days and well, let’s be real I don’t need those. So I started deleting, checking dates, more deleting and then I realized I didn’t remember this dress.  Continue reading →

Popcorn Is The Color Of My Love

There is a new gorgeous, delicate, set of lingerie at Adam n Eve that is a must have for you girls who collect lingerie like some people pick up lint.

I meant that like a good thing. Hmmmmm. ANYWAY. I was a little excited because her colors have names that make sense. Popcorn = soft yellow/cream color LIKE POPCORN. It never fails to vex me when I want to put something on and the color is TEQUILA. WHAT THE HELL COLOR IS TEQUILA ?

A delicate, elegant lingerie set, this new release also includes appliers for you not so delicate wearers of the big ass and paste on boobies. They have names but I can’t even remember them. If you wear them you know what I mean. So this lingerie will be suited for ladies of all kinds of butt and boob size.
