Cultural Appropriation – It’s Whats For Dinner !

Cultural Appropriation Is For Dinner

I could not resist the Mexican Fiesta at Rassassy last Sunday on the Lazy Sunday sale day. It was ONLY 75L for a lovely meal to cater at my house and I LOVE PIXEL FOOD DON’T JUDGE ME.

But as I laid my table and invited over my guests, I realized, that most misrepresented of Mexican holidays is upon us – Cinco de Mayo. Continue reading

The Suspense Is Killing Me

Whimsy Winx and Sasy Scarborough have been collaborating on photo sets for several months now and I look forward to each new photo set for My Attic at The Deck. This session has closed and the items are in the W.Winx & Flair store at The Deck, so I am still going to show you this great photo set with poses even if it is late. I also have on the new dress from Baiastice, but you will have to wait until I finish changing.

Cajsa Fast Five: May 1st

Fast Five Happy Labor Day to most of the world! Happy May Day!

Some great posts today, some with creative writing, some with magical photos.

  1. The Very Special Agent:  Irina Strazytski imagines undercover law enforcement in 2037. I loved the post and her imaginative character-building. The styling is fabulous, too.
  2. Fiona Blaylock Naked Art Show Raided by NTPD. Vaneeesa Blaylock has a fun post over at IRez reporting on her sister’s antics and the resultant police raid.
  3. Lights of Remembrances: Opal Lei takes Dim Sum to a magical place.
  4. FireStorm Clouds: Inara Pey shows how to access new clouds in FireStorm and they are amazing! Now if only it did not crash the instant I try to save a photo.
  5. Peace: Whiskey Monday’s photos are always wonderful, but this is my favorite of them all. It’s stunning and you will not want to miss it.

Pop Cans

Every once in a while you see a designer release a collection that brings them to a new level of excellence and creativity. Shinichi Mathy of Shiki has released just such a breakthrough collection this spring. With textures he developed from the banal elements and detritus of urban life, he has performed an alchemical transformation in to creative gold. For example, the fabric in this dress is inspired by a container filled with empty soda cans, cans seen from the top and the sides as they lay in a pile waiting to be picked up for recycling.

Have a Seat Darling

Have A Seat

HANDverk has released a set of post modern moulded furniture that would be perfect for a vagrant pixel Auntie Mame to terrify suburbanites with.

I’m showing off my favorite piece in the collection right now, a sofa nee chaise fitted with multiple sits and easy adjusting to keep your arms out of the sides.

I will be showing off the entire set soon but I wanted to pair this piece with the avant garde complete outfit I picked up at Black Haus White Market on Lazy Sunday. Lazy Sunday still one of my fave sale days, thanks for keeping it going.

My nails are SO two days ago, from FLAIR where you can get more nails than you can shake a stick at, to color your SLINK mesh nails. I always wear the ones marked ANIM and they move perfectly with my poses. It’s magic.

The hair isn’t a new release but it’s from Amacci, whom I consider to be a staple of quality releases.  You should pop over there if you haven’t been in a while.

Busy Wednesday is Busy.

Be beautiful my loves!

Gidge Is Wearing:

I’d Like to Be Under the Sea

I was not sold on this dress the instant I saw it at Collabor88. It had to grow on me like tentacles getting a purchase and expanding their hold little by little until their prey is helplessly entangled. I loved the bodice from the instant I saw it with the corseted bodice, the welted seams, the rick-rack trim, the buttons. I was in love. Octopi, though, that took some getting used to. I guess my memories of pulpo en su tinta with my host family in Spain remain fresh after two decades. But really, it’s a cartoon octopus, so I got over it.

A Lazy and Rainy Sunday Indeed

Cuppa Coffee and a Snack? Sure

A:S:S (that’s Another Shirt Store) has released a set of their Lazy A:S:S pajamas for Lazy Sunday in special colors and if it’s rainy and cloudy in your second existence as it is in mine, you’ll be glad of them to snuggle up into.

Is that coffee cannister right? I don’t even know. Every time I rezz it that’s all it does. Shrug. Seems wrong. Continue reading

The Trouble With Troobles (Yeah I Went There)

New Pets from Amazon and the Lab

The Lab did a partnership with Amazon.com  a few weeks ago for a “free pet” family – the Troobles. It was free – you just had to click buy and it was delivered magically to your inventory.

I do like pets. 🙂 Continue reading

Cajsa Fast Five: April 27th

Fast Five

The problem with having a cold is getting behind. It’s been four days since I did my last Fast Five and so much worthy stuff has been posted since then. I hope I can winnow it down to just five. It won’t be easy. I am going to cheat by adding this link to Daniel Voyager’s List of Viewers that support Server-Side Baking. He does not review or evaluate them; he just lists them, so I am going to pretend that does not count as a post.

  1. Takuya Jinn of Gabriel Speaks: A Fictional Exclusive Interview. I love humor and this post from Caduceus Lorakeet is hysterically funny. I dare you not to laugh.
  2. About SLOCCA and My Store: Aemeth Lysette wades into the template vs. original mesh controversy from the seldom-heard from perspective of a person who uses both and brings a common-sensical perspective. Continue reading
