I’m not talking drama as in the arrival of the drama llama, but merely describing the sheer drama of this Queen dress and headpiece from Elisea Carter. Now, this is drama!

The Sakura hat from Boudoir inspired a bit of poetic license.
O Chapeau shape! Chic attitude! with strings
Of dogwood and black threads like iron wrought,
With forest branches and metaphoric wings
Thou, hatly form, dost tease us out of thought
As doth eternity: thou filigree hat!
When pixel dust shall this fashion waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other blogs
Than ours, a friend to fashion, to whom thou say’st,
“Beauty is truth, truth beauty,” – that is that
and all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.
with profuse apologies to John Keats

The bright, cheerful Ruffiela dress from Skin Flicks is a happy setting for the lovely Dark Mouse Roses Are Blue parure.
My mother loved music. When she went blind temporarily from a pharmacy dispensing error and still did not know if her vision would ever return, she would say “I would rather lose my vision than my hearing. I can still listen to music and that’s enough beauty for any lifetime.” She had a way of putting troubles into perspective and facing difficulties with stoic optimism.

You can take all the tea in China, put in a big brown bag for me. Sail around the all the seven oceans, drop it straight into the deep blue sea. He’s as sweet as Tupelo Honey. He’s as angel of the first degree. He’s as sweet as Tupelo honey. Just like honey from the bee. That just happens to be the song playing on my Itunes as I post this and it also happens to be one of my favorite songs. Although it’s a Van Morrison song, I am listening to my favorite cover of it by Cassandra Wilson and it’s just a meltingly beautiful song. It’s such a romantic song. Whether it suits this sexy little dress, that’s for you to decide. I like it so well, I think it suits everything.

Shiki Designs released ten fun summer dresses. Gidge and I showed you two in the post highlighting our new shoes from A-Bomb. Here are six more, showing all the lovely floral prints and three of the five colors of the lace dresses – all but gren and blue. With them I wore the lovely new Victorian Ankle Boots from Juicy in appropriately juicy fruit colors.

I love the scattering of pailletes on this dress. Usually paillets are scattered on super sexy ball gowns, eding the organza overskirts that float above silk or satin draping. That makes this very special because it’s not a ball gown and it has a severe, conservative silhouette. Now, that first impression of conservatism is belied by the the ultra-modern shoulder pads and the exaggerated bow in the back – but that just makes the dress even more interesting. Another way that the initial conservatism is overwritten by design is in the fitted structured princess seam bodice that conforms so closely to the body. This is one of those lady-like dresses that will keep drawing closer, more admiring looks the longer it is studied.

There's no more "just for fun" outfit than the Le Cirque top and leggings from House of Hucci which for some mad, inexplicable reason made me think of Woody Guthrie's irrespressible Hoodoo Voodoo.
Hoodoo voodoo, seven twenty one two
Haystacka hostacka, ABC
High poker, low joker, ninety-nine-a-zero
Sidewalk, streetcar, dance a goofy dance
Blackbirdy, bluejay, one, two, three, four
Trash sack, jump back, EFG
Biggy hat, little hat, fatty man, skinny man
Grasshopper greensnake, hold my hand
Hoodoo voodoo, chooka-chooky-choo-choo
True blue, how true, kissle me now

This amazing lace gown from Entre Mares is a seductive arrangement of lace and lace and more lace. From the sheer and open lace of hte bodice to the wildly gathered lace of the sleeve to the thick heavy lace of the skirt panels, this dress is lace with all the seductive sensuality of lace and skin in overdrive.

Clio Cardiff, Bronco Graves and Hart Larsson have collaborated to create a fabulous avatar complete with skin, clothing and jewelry that is expected to be released today. The striking Efe skin with the Masai tattoo will be a group gift at PXL Creations and the other items will also be on sale there as well as the Efe skin without makeup. I don’t belong to lots of store groups in-world, but PXL Creations is one of them. Not only do members get a 10% discount at the store, but a few times a year there are lovely surprises like this gift skin.

The Maasai Outfit from Clio’s Pret-a-Porter is full of all sorts of win – from the fabulous linen fabric, the many options for the top to the bold coloring – a hallmark of her designs.

Come dancing,
That’s how they did it when I was just a kid,
And when they said come dancing,
My sister always did.
Is there a happier melody in music than the jubilant “Come Dancing” by the Kinks? The song lyrics are a just a little bittersweet, but the melody is pure joy. Can anyone sit listening to that song without moving to the beat – whether just tapping toes or standing up and dancing? It seems like a great song for these great separates from Baiastice that are perfect for a night of dancing.
