Quick Look:New Releases at TRUTH

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s Thursday. This means the sun came up – and Truth released hair.

I hear the stiletto heels stomping madly toward his mainstore now.

Anyway, four styles, I’m wearing the Almond color today to shake it up.

There are two versions of the up-do Leighton – with hair down in back and without.

RUN GIRLS RUN! 🙂

Style Notes:

  • Skin – Pxl Creations
  • Hair – Truth -Oct 7 releases in Almond
  • Eyes – Poetic Color – Lavender Field

More Fall From Chantkare-Mens AND Womens!

posted by Gidge Uriza

I am sitting on nothing. If I only had some lensflare this photo would be a cornucopia of things for the Fashion Mafia to chew on.

Alas, I am lensflareless.  Thus, you must content yourselves with pondering what it is I am sitting on in mid-air. Obviously pixel-people must sit on something or there will be a disruption in the space-time continuum.

I’m sorry I’m ranty. I don’t feel well.

But I like these new clothes from Chantkare. Continue reading

The Looking Glass

sep27_006.jpg

Marcus Inkpen, whose amazing No Sound build for the Utopia Islands exhibition sims may be familiar to many of you, has a more recent build called The Looking Glass that is equally stunning and a beautiful setting to show off this gorgeous new suit from Sissy Pessoa’s fall collection for Baiastice.

The Looking Glass is a working sim with galleries and shops in beautifully built stores. As you can see through the window, these pictures were shot outside a gallery.

Loving Virtual Decay

sep27_017.jpg

One of my favorite places to shoot pictures is Virtual Decay with its grungy urban verisimilitude. It’s just such detailed and high quality build in terms of details. When I tried on these recent releases from Kunglers for Modavia Fashion Week (yes, I know it’s past, but there were too many releases that week to even show a tenth of them) I saw that same high quality detail, particularly in the fabulous Soraia Jacket.

360 Degrees of High Fashion

Scribble Saturday Morning_006.jpg

As a devoted Project Runway fan who has never missed an episode, I can remember dozens of outfits that impressed me coming down the runway only to crash into the Valley of Bad Design once the model turned and walked back to the curtain. A few episodes back Tim Gunn proffered some of his best advice ever, reminding the designer that good design is 360 degrees – looking good from all angles. Well, some designers he does not have to remind about that are Royal Blue’s Marni Grut and Kenzie & Co.’s Kenzie Craven. These clothes were created by designers so cognizant that good design looks great from the back and sides as well as the front, that I decided to showcase this look from the back.

The Kenzie & Co. Zipper Racerback is the most obviously designed with attention to the back – but look at the lovely Jodhpurs on Crack from Royal Blue – they make your bum look good and the houndstooth detailing adds interest coming and going. The photos were taken at The Looking Glass – a new build from Marcus Inkpen

Ooh, Baby, It's a Plaid World

sep18_004.jpg

Vogue made me happy by telling me that plaids are in this season. Of course, I could have told them that plaids should always be in, but that’s another story. Seriously though, can something as beautiful as this gorgeous full-length plaid taffeta skirt from Casa del Shai ever be anything but in? If this be plaid, give me more!

I shot this set at Alpha Point – a sim I discovered linguistically. I have shot many times at Omega Point. I don’t know why it took me this long to wonder whether there being an Omega meant there was an Alpha, but it did. I did a search and there it was. Alpha and Omega – should have known long ago.

Lollipopz and Falling Autumn

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s no secret that I never like short hair. I mean, I “like” it but I’m always way girly happier in long hair. Until it’s time to shoot it. Then I’m all bitter because it’s sticking into my shoulders and boobs and looks like crap for the shots I want……and there is a lot of screaming and swearing usually – at least in my computer room. Tattoo Layer Make Up from A-Bomb = More Crack For Me

posted by Gidge Uriza

I’ve mentioned over at Second Style that my new crack addiction on the Grid is tattoo layer makeup. Now that I’m running a TPV that will support it I’m nursing a full on HABIT.

Luckily, the awesome girls at A-Bomb are just releasing eye makeup on the Tattoo Layer and mmmmmmmm PRETTEH. Continue reading

Fashion Weeks Make Me Happy

sep16_004.jpg

Someone was wondering how many Fashion Weeks there are in SL. I have no idea, but it did make me curious about Fashion Weeks in real life and so I went to the web and discovered there are at least 142 fashion weeks around the world. SL has a ways to go to catch up. Modavia Fashion Week has wrapped up, but the fashions that I found there are still sparkling away in my inventory – and that includes this lovely little dress from Kunglers.
