Cigar? Cigarette?

posted by Gidge Uriza

The folks at Reasonable Desires released this one a while back but I never remember to shoot things in order. So while it’s not NEW – it’s still uber fantastic and cute.

Cajsa had an event at MDR back in the day, and she had a good Furry friend of ours wear a waiter AO with a serving tray which was very festive and fun. This costume is in the same idea – your traditional 40s style Cigar/Cigarette Girl (they often also had gum and candies to freshen your breath back in the day) with a tray that actually gives stuff out. Lingerie Post In Need of A Title: Apply Within

Okay, now that I have spent over 10 minutes cycling through bad title ideas for this post, I hand the job over to you, dear Readers.  I am wearing the wonderfully detailed and sexy lingerie from Cicciuzzo Gausman of Riviera Couture. It also comes in Mocha, Black and Blue. Yummy!

I thought about making up a title like I ♥ Italy since the lingerie and the skin I am wearing (PXL Creations) are by Italian designers, but if I had been planning that I would have used the poses by Antosperandeo Allen.  Instead I went with the Sex Sells and Sultry poses of Reel Expressions and if you look at the photos you can see they are well-named.  Besides, that gorgeous Mirone hair plays a role. So do those luscious earings from Zaara who is  from India and though India and Italy both begin with an I, I don’t think that counts.

Serendipity @ Tuli

So on  Sunday, I was trying to get to The Velvet for Maht’s set and my tp’s failed and failed and failed. I got a lovely thank you IM from Antonsperandeo Allen of Behavior Body for my post featuring his animations and asked for a TP to see if I could get untrapped. Well, I was able to leave the Spa, but now I was stuck on the Baiastice sim. So, I start clicking every LM I have trying to find one that gets me away… and whoosh, I end up at Tuli right in front of this dress and was like, “Forget the music, I want that dress!!!”  And that’s how I ended up finding it.

Not My Area of Expertise

I have some familiarity with Behavior Body poses and am fond of the Elegance/Garbo AO which I sometimes use to shoot photos in no rez/no script sims as its stands are  modish and fashion-oriented. But I was very surprised to be asked by Antosperandeo Allen, the posemaker, if I would like to try out one of his Runway Model Huds and possibly feature it in my blog.

I explained to him that I don’t do runway modeling and am no expert. I gave him the names of several runway models who blog and said they would be much better at it than me. I guess he likes honesty, because then he said he would give them to me anyway AND send all three, if I didn’t mind. Now, really? Who would mind?

So, ease of use. There are 12 poses and 12 numbers. You click on a number and your posing. That’s easy. You can click on this colored square and it changes the orientation of the list of numbers. It’s like Quick Huddles in how it feels and operates. As to the poses, they are very naturalistic. You will not look like Auntie Mame having a DIVA moment, but like a modern modish woman, strutting her stuff. After the cut, I have, for my sins, made composites to show you all 36 animations in the pose position at the end of the animation. Oh…and you can turn your head and orient your gaze. Holy Primflap, Batman!

We all know the drill. You put on your system clothes and then attach your primflap or crotch prim and begin to adjust and adjust and adjust. You want those textures to line up. You want the top of the prim not to stick out like a tiny shelf suspended off your pelvis. You hope the prim and the system pieces are the same shade. That the front and the back melt into the system pieces flawlessly. But they don’t, do they?

Well, don’t ask me how she did it, but Annyka Bekkers has mastered the primflap as you can see in this slipdress – Felice, from blowpop.  It’s not impossible to spot the prim, but it’s damn difficult.  I have never seen this difficult and aggravating piece of clothing done so well. It’s really an amazing job…and the prim flap is even harder to see on the lighter shades of clothing.

Love at First Sight

I am so glad I went to Fabulous Fashion TV on Monday night. First, it introduced me to two new jewelers, but even more exciting, whilst wandering around the store at one of the jewelry (Piso) I happened upon a new to me hair store called Mirone and it was love at first sight, and at second and third too for that matter.  Look at that whispy casually elegant updo. The hair textures are absolutely perfect and I am in love.

I am in love the the adorable dress from Truth as well. With the big, bold paisley design, it’s got a graphic punch to it. The shrug I added just in case the weather turned chilly. From Project Kiwi, it’s just that little bit of warmth on your shoulders that you want on a summer evening.
