Not for all the Rhinestones in the World

The textures in the different clothing in this outfit are actually much better than rhinestones. There’s such depth and interest whether it’s the marvelously made top from Maitreya’s Bubble Skirt dress, the intricately patterned skirt from MiaMai or the rhinestone-cowboy-kicking boots from Adam N Eve. I would not trade such depth and interesting textures for all the rhinestones in the world. Add the amazing jewelry from EarthStones and this is a texture-gasmic outfit.

I thought it deserved a great setting for at least one shot – and fortuitously, while I was getting dressed, Lizzie Lexington sent me a landmark to Minute Papillon, a lovely spot for photos. Best of all, you can rez poseballs for photos.  And doesn’t it look better for the glittering lights to be in the trees?

In Which I Match the Dance Floor

Gidge’s husband Silo had his Rez Day party on Saturday. Since I was DJ’ing, I went over early to put out a couple dance balls and noticed that Gidge had put out a psychedelic dance floor that reminded me of a new dress I got at Baiastice. Suddenly, I knew I just had to wear that dress that matched the dance floor – and so, here it is – the Yoyce Dress from Baiastice.

Formally Baiastice

posted by Gidge Uriza

It’s no secret that on many occasions Cajsa and I share a brain.  Often, with no communication for a day or two, we’ll hit publish at the same time. Now I admit, when I saw she’d put up her gown from Sascha’s Designs – I already had mine in queue to publish next and thought it was funny.

But clearly, our brains are still attached because I had Baiastice queue up to publish today, and when I finally sat down at the PC what do I find on her post?

Baiastice.

Great minds…… Continue reading

Casually Baiastice

Sissy Pessoa released her spring casual collection last week and it is as stunning and full of fun and innovation as her couture collection that she released last month. Much of her collection is made up of separates like this blouse and skirt – that can be mixed and matched as you please. In fact, these two were not placed or styled together in the store layout, but I liked the monochrome feeling they create together.  The highlight is the highwaisted skirt named Didge. It is full of the special Baiastice attention to detail that sets it apart. For example, there are three prims, not one, for the skirt. One for each leg and one for the upper tier of the skirt. This makes the skirt look great when you walk and dance and move aroun and keeps it from having that funky sculpty incongruous movement. Other great detailing is the flashes of cream edging peeping out at the bottom and the fitted to perfection belt. It comes in several colors and can be the foundation for countless looks.

It's Black, It's White……

posted by Gidge Uriza

Ok so just like Cajsa said below……..the options that Sascha Frangilli gives us in each item we buy from her are staggering, release after release.  As a blogger, I spend more time figuring out which pieces to wear, how to wear them together – or whether to just shoot them ALL than actually shooting.

I admit it, though – it’s kinda fun.

The flexibility with the variety of styles of skirts offered, two pair of gloves, a bolero jacket option etc means that although Cajsa and I each blogged this today, neither of us are sporting it exactly the same way which I really like.

This is a gorgeous spring outfit in either black or white – and as I look at the hat I’m reminded that the Kentucky Derby is coming up……..girls got your Derby Hats ready yet?

How many kinds of skirts are there?

Hey, it’s a valid question when dealing with a dress from the Sultana of Skirts, Countess of Choices Sascha Frangelli. I mean I thought I had a clue when working with one of her ballgowns which might come with three lengths and several widths of skirt, but you realize that you have met the Overlord of Options after seeing her do a shorter dress with five, count ’em FIVE, options with not a single one longer than the one in the picture above.  I confess I was confounded by options – swimming in a sea of choices. What to wear? What to wear?

Spring Flowers from Baiastice:Big Hair From Exile

posted by Gidge Uriza

As we continue to drink from the well of spring releases at Baiastice, I gotta admit this is in my top two faves of her new line. It’s so fantastically floral and retro inspired without any of the kitsch that can come with it.

Ok Ok Ok, I like kitsch – but someone who can pull the look off without it – you haz my admiration. Plus you know, it’s pink and purple which in my world = WIN.

The cutaways at the waistline had me confused at first seeing them on the vendor – I thought she’d modeled them on a freakishly skinny avatar. D’oh! But no, they are designed to make sure that you are glad your avatar does her crunches.

Big hair is always in style somewhere. TAKE THAT HATERS!

*edited for Winter Jefferson. Yes it said SOMEONE but you know, now it’s fixed. Grrrr.

Momma Was An Opium Smoker

Not really! That’s just the name of this lovely rose quartz and gold jewelry set from Ticky Tacky made for the Accessory Fair. With a name like that I knew I had to show it off – especially since it it really cute. How lucky, then, that it is such a great match with the Adam N Eve dress for the RFL Clothing Fair. I Kept Trubble, I Knew I'd Need It

posted by Gidge Uriza

I knew when I saw the Erin dress from Trubble that I was going to need it. I didn’t know what FOR, but I knew I would indeed want it for something. So I threw it out on my bedroom floor by the window. WEEKS ago. I’ve been staring at it so long, it was in danger of becoming artwork. Continue reading
