1962 and 52 Years of Music

1962

It’s 1962 at The Velvet tonight. Velvet Musicologist Maht Wuyts has set off on a year-long revue of the last half-century of music from 1960 to 2012. Every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 SLT, Velveteers will travel through time. One of my favorite gowns from the fall collections at Modavia Fashion Week is Letia from Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice. Its sheer silk chiffon comes in three lovely florals. The man-tailored top and the stiffened sculpted skirt gives modern forms to this old world fabric. the corset also combines modern shape with a beautiful romantic toile. The combination of old and new is an exciting new look.

They don’t explain because they don’t have to, that’s their magic. So, I am not going to explain why I am spinning around on a beach with a lighthouse in this gown. I just am, it’s a pretty place, the air is fresh. ‘Nuff said. The gown is one of the 45 limited release colors to celebrate the redesign and reopening of the Azul store. Get thee hence and pick up one, two or more of these limited release colors – and have a gown that after September no one will be able to purchase one just like you.
