The Parties of Christmas Are Upon Us

Dec15d_006

Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice releases a gorgeous collection of stunning holiday gowns every year and this year, with mesh in her masterful hands, the holiday collection is more gorgeous than ever. This Juliet dress is a stunning cocktail dress that can be worn two ways, with the yoke and hem sheer or opaque. Its rich jewel tones and its wrapping paper shimmer are simply perfect.

Back in the Saddle Again

DEc09B_005

This has been a long week while my computer was away getting its logic board replaced. They replaced the battery plugin and the bottom keyboard and cursor touchpad as well because they decided they were not up to snuff. I am thrilled to have it back after 5 days of using a 9 year old computer to browse the web. My old desktop is fine for playing iTunes and checking mail, but coughed and spluttered and ground to a halt when trying to look at flickr. In this outfit, I am wearing a new jacket from Baiastice with a Baistice skirt from last month and a black shirt from Kyoto Couture. I love the look of the Western style tie and the black on black with the jacket.

RC Cola and a Moon Pie

dec08_006

With the lovely hat from Bliss Couture and the sleek pencil skirt, everything about this outfit is so very chic, but the polka dots and the bright cherry red point me toward rockabilly. In fact, RC Cola and a Moon Pie ran through my head the entire time I was blogging.

I don’t want no cornbread
And I do love peas and rice
And I don’t want no carrots
No real hot pizza slice

But everything’s gonna be alright
With an RC Cola and a Moon Pie

Frostbite Cottage from Trompe Loeil for COLLABOR88

The new FROSTBITE Cottage from Trompe Loeil has been released for Collabor88 and I couldn’t wait to rezz it and see how cozy and wintery it was. I chose the white but there are several color variations and you can opt for frosted windows or not just by touch.

I chose frosted, in RL I live in Atlanta and I miss the wintery cold of the north. Continue reading

Bring On Christmas

Christmas Begins_001

I confess. I’m ready. The events are exploding and there is so much excitement in the air about everything that is new and amazing for the holidays this year.

I love everything about the holidays on the grid, and even on my borrowed square I’m doing a little bit of sprucing up for the happy time. Continue reading

The Best Color in the World

Snapshot_005

“The best color in the whole world is one that looks good on you.”
Coco Chanel

I thought of that quote when I saw the wonderfully rich, saturated colors in the new leggings from MichaMi, because I think all of them would look good on me. Alas and alack, I had to choose and opted for this rich brick red, one of my favorite colors.  She made the leggings to coordinate with a colorful print top that she also produced in a range of colors that show her mastery of putting color together.

Lost In Borgen

nov27_006

One of the perks of Thanksgiving weekend is the TV marathon that allows you to catch up on old shows and discover new ones. During this weekend, I discovered what may be one of the best TV shows ever – at least for a political junkie like me. It’s called Borgen, or Government, and is a Danish series imagining the career of the first woman prime minister. It’s available on the LinkTV website for two weeks only, so here’s your chance. Both Season One and Season Two are available. I would love to take the fictional prime minister Birgitte Nystrom shopping, though. She only wears black and dark blue power suits with solid color blouses and sensible shoes. I would love to see her in some color and prints. She could carry off this bold, body-con dress from Kunglers,  but would never even try it on.

The Holiday Season Arrives

In Season_003

And just like that, it’s time to start thinking of holiday events. It’s officially the Social Season with Thanksgiving week starting in the states. Parties and dances of a more elegant nature will start to pop up on your social calendar so it’s probably time to shop for something formal! Continue reading

CAE Opens with Fabulous Modern Jewelry

nov17_005

Baiastice has released a sexy little slip dress. Is there such a think as a non-sexy slip dress? I love this dress. Made with mesh, it hugs the body beautifully. The white on white fabric gives it dimension and adds shapeliness. There are a lot of slip dresses, but this one races to the top of my list.

I added the darling DECO pumps I picked up on a discount day, but they are available in the store. I love this sassy hair style from Exile!

My jewelry comes from CAE, the fabulous new jewelry store that opened on Saturday. By Caelan Hancroft, CAE jewelry is modern. Its elegance comes through simplicity and boldness.  It’s a stunning collection and this set of pearls is one of the highlights. It’s so much for fun, too, to wear a ring with SLink’s mesh hands. You can find CAE right by the landing point at Truth District.

The skin is the fabulous Taina by Sachi Vixen from Adam n Eve. And she’s already wearing a new skin she’s working on. Does that woman sleep?
