Collabor88 opened today with a flourish, a crisp and clean flourish. Certainly the lovely Shiroi skin applier from Glam Affair for Lelutka Mesh Heads is a clean, crisp look for these hot summer days. So are the lovely stone and silver earrings (completely jewelry set) from La Gyo. I want to dress for the heat back home in Minnesota because I hit the road tomorrow for a trip back home to visit my sister and the rest of my family.
So I am still enjoying that list of untranslatable words. This one seemed so perfect for Gidge and me, though then I decided to Google Translate it and discovered it was Swedish, not Norwegian. However, the full meaning was even more appropriate, two people whose work together make them more well-known than their separate identities, a dynamic duo if you will. Gemütlichkeit is a world I picked up from this wonderful web site I found the other day. Even it it means you wander away for hours, I want you to check you out. It’s a collection of untranslatable words. Words that convey concepts, that have no equivalent in our language, at least not in a single word. It is fun.
I am wearing the dress I wore in my last blog post, in a print this time. It comes in a solid or print version with six options in the texture huds. My last post was nothing but head shots, so I wanted to show you the back which is just so adorable. The house is the San Clemente from Barnesworth Anubis. It’s a great house and I will show you around inside, but the name makes me think of Richard Nixon, since that was where he was from.

Clawtooth by Clawtooth Over and Over
Ram Dass, a pop spirituality writer, once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” It is a quote that has stayed with me since the day I first heard it.
Bubbles Clawtooth is walking his mother home. Bubbles’ mama has ALS, a neurodegenerative disease created to break hearts and spirits, but Bubs is too strong, too busy, and too needed to fall apart except perhaps for moments of silent screaming while driving to the pharmacy or grocery store. Because he is her child and her caretaker, he wrote that he feels like “the primary joy in her world which is both a treasure and a large cross to bear. Being strong when your heart feels like it’s shattering along with there being 24-hour needs and very little time for autonomy is by far the most difficult thing Bubs has ever had to face (and Bubs has faces some things darlings). It’s a living nightmare in one moment and a dear treasure the next.” Bubbles finds the strength in his love and joy in his service, but that does not make this walk easy.
Sometimes it helps when someone walks with you a little distance,even if only in spirit. So I propose a Blogger Challenge to show our support and solidarity with Bubbles.
Why do I procrastinate about doing a clean install? I know that when I crash just by turning or camming or razzing an item, it is time for a clean install, but I delay and try to muddle along, bring my draw distance down to 32 and crashing and getting fed up and closing out of SL for days. I put this outfit on last Sunday and only finally got around to shooting it – AFTER I did a clean install. It’s not like it that hard even.
I know why, though. I am always afraid the new version won’t work and the old version will be gone, lost forever. See my rant on that at “Linden Lab, Don’t Feel My Pain.”
I have also been decorating the beautiful Daylily Cottage from Scarlet Creative for Collabor88. Crashing when I rez things made it a slow process. I really should have done that clean install sooner.

There is so much to enjoy at Collabor88, but I have to admit that Emery is always one of my faves. I just know the quality will be peerless and the separates will work perfectly together as this jacket and dress does.
Collabor88 celebrates spring by going green. A Tough of Green is the theme this month, but you know those sneaky designers, they always go above and beyond and add all sorts of glorious colors for us. This top from The Secret Store comes in umpteen colors, almost as many as the pants from Addams.
And if you don’t know how many umpteen is, there’s no hope for you.

I think if Hart Larsson of PXL Creations got 10 lindens every time I say, please make Lelutka Head appliers, he could buy a car. An SL car at the very least. But squeaky wheels get greased and lo and behold, so do squeaky mesh heads. It will be available at We ♥ Role-play until the end of April. The dress is floral confection from The Annex for A Secret Affair.
I relaxed for a bit outside the converted dovecote from Scarlet Creative where I have been living this last month. The furnishings are all to be found at Collabor88 and you better go rickety-split because I think tomorrow is your last chance before you will have to run from store to store. Items are from Aria & The Loft, Second Spaces, Soy and Scarlet Creative.
I am behind the times this week. I was catching up on last week’s The Nightly Show tonight and cracked up at this member of the audience who made off with a giant flat Larry, taking it home nonchalantly on the subway. He asked the thief to take #FlatLarry around and share on Twitter. Well, I didn’t steal the original #FlatLarry, but I found one on the web and set him out in front of The Drunk Tank, one of the amazing builds in DRD’s Steel Town – and entire city in a gacha.
If I had known I was going to be hanging out with #FlatLarry, I might have dressed a bit more professionally, but somehow I think he might just like this Karma dress from PixiCat. With the texture hud, it can also switch to a smooth, shiny leather.

Diana Vreeland once said she spent her entire life in search of the perfect red. She should have started at Sascha’s Designs where Sascha Fragelli has captured the perfect red in her Lush Red Dress for The Instruments from February 11th through the 25th. The dress comes with its own jewelry, heart-shaped hat and white boa, but I decided to go in another direction with Lelutka’s bolero in purple (it was a Christmas group gift). Something about red and purple is so lush and wild.
