On Monday's I'm Very Ingenue

I needed something comfy but gently tailored for my Monday workday so pixel Gidge slipped into this mash up of pieces from Ingenue. Chocolate and pink together has been one of my favorites this past year so I couldn’t resist pairing her mink Katherine pants with this rose colored top. Continue reading

The Robber Brides

The Robber Bride is one of my favorite books by Margaret Atwood, a modern spin on the Brother’s Grim Tale where instead of a male villain – the female takes the role, stealing the loves of three women and binding them together in friendship.

Their dislike of her and the way she spun their lives is the binding force that keeps them together.

My first thought, as Cajsa and I twirled around the store in the demo versions of these gowns, was “Always a bridesmaid never a bride…” But then we travelled to World’s End to shoot and we seemed far more menacing and powerful against the gloom and dark of the build.

Say Yes To The Dress

Petunia With Gidge_021
As soon as the demos for this gown rezzed on our bodies, Gidge and I knew that we had really found something special. It reminded me of the magical moments on the show Say Yes to the Dress and its sexy styling reminded me of the show’s favorite designer Pnina Tornai.

Always The Bridesmaid

Petunia With Gidge_002

When Gidge and I tried on the demos for the Petunia Gown from TGIS, we knew we had to blog it and not just blog it but mega-blog it. The quality of the construction has to be seen to be believed and it’s just so romantically perfect that we could not resist.

Petunia With Gidge_003

So we went to World’s End and shot some pictures. I wore cream and she wore pink and we each will blog our individual dresses and highlight those stunning elements that move us, but here’s a teaser with the two of us wearing this most incredible of gowns.

Cherry Blossoms

Apr21_009

The most exciting thing about events like Chic Limited is how creators can reify a single inspiration into a fascinating collection that illustrates perfectly that art is the expression of individuality. This month’s inspiration was Cherry Blossom and the collection ranges from softly feminine petal-adorned dresses to the pop art bold graphic style of this babydoll from So Many Styles.

Apr21_023

As you can see, I had fun running around MiC Musee de Roma Capitale art installation to shoot my pics. I also used Windlight settings by CodeBastard Redgrave for thee beautiful red sky that really brought the art to life.

Blue leaves of Spring

I’ve been browsing a Finnish fashion site lately called Hel Looks.  What I’ve noticed is that for the cold northern Spring, people are wearing bright tights and socks with open-toed shoes.  I got all inspired by this and put together an outfit with a nice baggy tunic feel to the top and bright legs.  I found it was easy to put together this look with clothing from Milk Motion — Marie Lauridsen has the shape that suits this kind of style, comfortably baggy with great colors and a worn, vintage feeling to the textures.

I was also inspired by my brand new TREE!  Look at that awesome tree, it’s the new and beautiful Crann Bethadh from Schadenfreude.  I bought the blue one, but I’m going to get the pink soon especially for my dearest partner Jackal.  (Another picture and credits below the cut!)
