I did a plurality of shopping at MY ATTIC @ The Deck and as the theme is gorgeous Summer Abroad I have to admit I was pretty much swimming in the pretties while I was there. I’ve got boxes and bags galore strewn over my house, I don’t know how I will ever unpack truly. Continue reading

Gotta gatcha
I’m still in love with the Starlust Gatcha Festival. The latest batch of cool stuff includes these tattoos from ~silentsparrow~. If you spring for the whole thing, like I did, you get 50 tattoos in various places… or you can put money into the addictive little machine. :p I’m also wearing makeup and a garter and stockings from the Schadenfreude gatcha. Also, not from a gatcha, this awesome mesh hair from Lamb. I wear ridiculous amounts of Lamb hair, mostly because I love it to bits, and the mesh fixes the one issue that I had… the “oops my hair is sticking through my boob” issue. So yay!

The Terra Cotta Army
I love my new dress from The Sea Hole. It comes in six colors and, of course, I chose antique. There’s also a pink, yellow, blue, black and silver all in powder-soft pastels with fancy names like blush, custard, sky, shadow and silverscreen. Don’t you just love color names? There are such fabulous details on the dress and it’s a great sensible use of mesh and system pieces in combination. The bodice, with its sheer panels and sparking contrast fabric is a system piece while the skirt is mesh and rigged to move with your movements. It has a mesh alpha, but it’s not necessary, so you can wear some of your loveliest lingerie.
Looking this good, I wanted to go out and about and what would be better than the fabulous new discovery at Tenth Rua. They were terraforming and their excavation lead to the discovery of these magnificent terra cotta soldiers that replicate on a small scale the vast Terra Cotta Army of Emperor Qin that was found under similar circumstances in 1974 when workers were digging a well. Who know such treasures lurked beneath the surface patch? Get digging, people!

Trekking at Ivalde
While checking out this new dress from Ivalde, I decided to trek around the Ivalde sim and climbed up high to get a good look. I am also taking a good look at this new dress with the colorful embroidery on the sleeves and bodice. I am wearing the teal dress, but it also comes in red, magenta, green, blue, and yellow all on a rich black fabric.
It’s Time
In less than four hours, Fashion For Life will be closing until next year. The vendors will be picked up and the sims will be dismantled and it will all go away, these beautiful builds such as this one that are all part of a monumental annual effort to raise funds in the hope of finding cures for cancer. Cancer is such a tricky bastard; it needs more than one cure. But the cures are possible; they can be found and it will take our concerted effort to find them.
A new kind of mambo
I DJ’ed last night at The Velvet and put together a fun set full of mambos, tangos and sambas with a bit of jive and other things to spice it up. I wanted to wear something samba-worthy and remembered this top I picked up at The Dressing Room Blue. It was from Mimikri, so I dived into my Mimikri folder to find a silver skirt to wear with it – and adapting this skirt from the Adele dress worked perfectly.
I love putting together different sets that explore a mood or a beat and have a lot of fun spinning my songs on Monday nights. My long-time friend and former partner is the manager at The Velvet and has really brought a new spirit to the place. If you have not been there in awhile, you might want to try it again. The old “We are cooler than you,” vibe is long gone and there’s a friendly spirit that focuses on the sheer pleasure of sharing music. There’s a blog that you should check out with posts from many of the DJ’s updating readers on upcoming sets.

Half Dressed

I’ve torn my nylons with my plastic spider ring. I guess there is nothing to do for it but to blog about something else………like………SKIN!

Glam Affair has released LEAH which is a fresh, soft face even in thick red lipstick. I feel in love with the gorgeous look of this skin as soon as I put it on but I’m a sucker for soft girly looks.
And since it’s Monday that means……..I’m out.

Regatta
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since my last post. How time flies when you’re stuck in a conference room in a hotel next to the San Francisco airport for 4.5 days. OK … maybe not. Even worse, the weather was dreary the entire time and even rained out the golf tournament, which was our one glimmer of fun all week. So as we all looked forlornly out the lobby window overlooking the SF Bay, I thought about warmer times and fun activities to be had there some other day.
Unedited – Gidge Does The Opposite of Cajsa

I decided to do the opposite of Cajsa when picking up the Unedited Photo Challenge and do LOTS of color vs very limited range. I followed my usual habit of snorking off of Honour McMillan’s blog for a place to shoot onlocation. It was perfection that the place I landed on is called Happy Mood, as I have nothing but one of those. Continue reading
