Hospital Blogging From a Cozy Room

Sienna

Well, I always say if you are gong to be blogging from a hospital, might as well make it cozy. Sadly, I am back in the hospital with more post-surgical complications, but I have some outfit shot waiting to blog, including this lovely, cozy sweater and jeans. The top is a lush velour sweater from Malt that has that lustrous touchability that makes velour look so cozy.

The jeans are from Zaara who is one of the best with textures in SL and these jeans are no exception. I took the pics at one of the buildings for sale at the Mechanical Toy Factory. All the furniture, including that toasty wood stove are on sale as well.

Blogger Challenge:Something Old

Achariya has challenged us all to dig into our closets and pull out designs that are no longer available to appreciate them and take that stroll down memory lane of who we used to be.
It was tough for me, because I have three former great loves who are not longer with us. All three just POOFED and were gone one day.
I had a hard time not just wearing all Digit Darkes, but let’s face it, I blogged most if not all of her catalog here over the years so I thought I’d mash it up a bit.
I’m wearing a cropped green sweater and tribal bead jeans from Chic Boutique which was a store I always refused to tell my friends where it was.
I didn’t want them to have cute things like me. HA. Continue reading

Mechanical Toy Factory

Mechanical Toy Factory

I love it when folks send me a landmark for a new place to explore. Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice knows my love of exploring since I frequently offer to TP her to see this or that place I want to show off. The other night she sent me a LM, and before I even got to exploring, I found this little alcove in front of the Mechanical Toy Factory store. I got so engrossed in shooting pictures, I forgot to go into the store until the next time I logged in.

The dress is a silver leather dress from Pequ with gorgeous zipper piping to add visual interest.

Sienna…. Week 10

When I saw this weeks color was Sienna… the very first thing that popped into my head was ….. HAIR!… I’m a redhead so, Sienna is just one shade of red (in my opinion).  And when I decided to shoot hair, then  I realized I had to break out my Omega Flexi System from PhotoLife.

Check out the Omega Flexi System inworld HERE.

The hair is from Tukinowaguma and is called Melinda – its in the natural section.

Cajsa Copycat

It only takes a few cotton candy cosmos and a bottle of cheap fruity wine to make me decide to blog exactly the same dress as Cajsa just blogged.

Because I’m funny like that.

I had the sense to pick out a different color of Baiastice’s NORA dress which is a limited edition piece of the CHIC event, whose theme is Sweet and Sour. I can’t decide which this retro inspired cocktail dress is. I’m always sweet, so that must be it. It’s sweet. Or it could be sour as I could imagine desperate cougars wearing this about trying to look young and beautiful like me. Continue reading

I Fell In Love

jan15_014

I fell in love yesterday, with an installation called XIV on the Dignity Sim. Such a stunning venue deserved a stunning dress and the limited edition Nora from Baiastice is just the dress. Designed for the Chic Limited event that features 30 designers producing works based on a theme. The January theme is Sweet and Sour. Sadly, it’s been so long since shooting water, I forgot that shooting pictures larger than your screen size will fracture the water in photos – a sorry photo glitch that has been around for over a year now.

XIV_033

Because of the water glitch, I logged back in just to shoot some photos of the sim reducing the size to my screen size – which is how you get rid of that glitch. Here’s one of the many photos from XIV, the lovely installation. I took a few dozen photos of the sim for the Stock Photos Flickr group Sasy Scarborough started – sharing photos suitable for people to use as backgrounds for those who prefer shooting in the studio and popping in a background later.

Print Mania

jan14SIC_017

I don’t know what ancient arbiter of style first asserted that thou shalt never mix prints, but he was as wrong as two left shoes. Luckily, our generation has gotten over that hoary antique of fashion diktat and moved on to a more exciting and more printastic era. Mixing prints is an art and one well practiced at Peqe as you can see in the lovely little dress that mixes a leopard and lace print. Of course, I had to add to the printasm with floral tights.

Mixing three prints could be a clashtastrophe, but notice what is next to what. You see, the first is mostly black, then mostly white, then mostly black. If the floral were next to the leopard, it would not work.

52 Weeks of Color – Plum

jan12_006

I don’t know about you, but my first impulse when I put on a sleek and silky dress is to rush right out in the snow for picture-taking. I am not alone in this as you know if you, like me, enjoy looking at all the pictures from other bloggers.

jan12_004

When I put on this gorgeous plum colored gown from Donna Flora, I immediately had to ask the seals at the lovely Winter Solstice sim what they thought of the riotous roses on the sleeves and shoulders. They approved.
