Fabulous Fashion TV – It's Fabulous!

I spent a ridiculous amount of time agonizing over what to wear during my 8 minutes of fame on Fabulous Fashion TV.  In addition to being unbelievably disorganized, confused and tardy during the entire process – I was nervous.

Unbelievably so.

Here is the kind of paranoid crap that ran through my mind.

  • Who should I wear?
  • Will someone be insulted if I DON’T wear them?
  • Should I wear what I’m talking about or not?
  • What sort of look should I go for?
  • Should I go for any look at all?
  • Would Would Joan Jett Do?

So all this aside, I decided to embrace the stylists credo (after all I was the guest stylist although I wasn’t doing Angie Mornington’s hair) and wear all black. They do this to minimize their own fabulousness and to make it all about YOU – if you’ve ever wondered why some do that. Really upscale places tend to (or neutral colors). Continue reading →

Casual Friday +Plus SPORK!

So what’s fun about plurk is that you get to talk to all sorts of people throughout SL that you might never meet otherwise.  And you get a chance to talk to creators a lot and if you get REALLY lucky somethings they throw out a “Hey Who Wants to check this out” kinds plurk and you can go ME ME ME ME! and pick up something cool – often before it’s release.

But mostly what’s fun is just the random banter, and the chatter of a group of voices who are becoming friendsd. Who kid and tease and joke with one another.

SLink Sexy for Thursday Night

So I had never been to SLink till Cajsa bought me prim feet the other day. But I was enamored by her monochromatic styles and the rich, jewel tones of her textures.

Consequently I had to go back.  My friend QXI Gears was having an art exhibit (which I did not make SHAKES FIST AT RL!!!) but I wanted something slinky and sexy as QXI does erotic art (which will make your head explode, your eyes pop out and turn you on in ways which disturb you).

So, I decided pairing up a couple of my new pieces from SLink would exactly fit the bill.

So were you like me, and went to ETD and bought every flippin hairstyle she made since god was a boy – back when she had her big sale? And are you like me now buying every damn thing you see that is new? I found this – and forgot I had it.  I thought it was kind of a fun and messy ‘do for the look.

I have decided that 500-700 hits a day aren’t enough and I want a piece of the drama traffic as well. So, that being said, I’m going to start daily posting things which annoy the living hell out of me.

That’s right. Sit down, school is in session.

First up the crusader against content theft and nutfuckery Tenshi Vielle of Shopping Cart Disco,who has thrown under the bus Bianca Foulon and  Muism for their mutual photosourcing of a GOD AWFUL top , has apparently decided that since SHE doesn’t read any fashion blogs that none of the rest of us do……….

Seriously Tenshi, did you think that we wouldn’t notice that you lifted this STRAIGHT off of Fred Flare?   I suppose that righteous indignation is good for SCD but over on Crap Fashion it’s just all good to do whatever is fun at the moment with no moral compass?

And then to make matters worse you’ve got perfectly respectable folks SUPPORTING this hypocrisy?

Please. I’m thoroughly disgusted with the whole thing.

I’m so fortunate that my best friend has exquisite taste and style. What that means is that I never get drug along on shopping trips where I go “Ummm, DO NOT WANT/KTHANXBY.”   Instead of going “Oooooh, Oh DO WANT! DO WANT!”

Both Modern Gypsy and Exile are places like that for me. I wouldn’t have wandered in without Cajsa and now I’m addicted to their goodness.  This short casual dress is called Desertmoon but at first I thought it said “dessert moon” and it put me in mind of  dessert cafes of my 20s. I’ve got some strict rules in my life. One of which is that when watching musicals, you are required to sing along, with gusto, any song you know.   My Fair Lady is probably one of the harder pull off as the ridiculous soprano is impossible to sing but – you get the point.

Sooo, what’s up with these gloves? They’re a little, whacky.

My initial thought was “hmmm weird gloves” but I really like Sascha the designer and thought well, she’s doing something wonky with gloves. Whatever I’ll go with it.

Then, after seeing my original post she was horrified, and let me know this dress does NOT have gloves. Seems I’d been hit by an SL bug, but Sascha had the fix. Continue reading →

A Velvet Sunday

Our friend Maht was dj-ing at the Velvet a couple of weeks ago and I actually was able to get in world during the day, so I thought I’d pop over and visit my friends and listen to his set.

This was exactly the excuse I needed to pull out these plaid pants from Little Rebel. The set comes with three pair of pants and this tintable tank and was exactly the sort of comfy/indie look I wanted at the Velvet that afternoon. Continue reading →
