Yes, Miss Stern

posted by Gidge Uriza

I found this outfit at Sn@tch when I was looking for something to fix another problem I was having – it’s a FACEPALM story but you have to wait for that. I’d actually seen Ivey’s notice releasing it, and noted that I liked it but when I got into the store and took a good look I realized it would be AWESOME with these boots I got.

I picked these boots up at the FEMDOM event a few months ago, they were free. I was lead to the boots by a boy on a chain. So you know, that was good times. Continue reading

Expectations 9:Hippies,Yippies and Sn@tch

Nothing said Summer of Love quite as well to me as this patchwork dress from Sn@tch and since I was determined to wear something hippie festive with this hair from EXILE – Miranda in Ash for the Summer of Love festivale.

If you are old enough, you know that they called them both yippies AND hippies however hippies caught on and that’s the one everyone remembers.  I just remember the yippies because my Grandma was forever going on about the “damned dirty yippies”. Continue reading

Expectations 8: Mixed Expectations

It’s pretty clear that with the many Sn@tch separates we can put together all sorts of looks, but let’s not forget that we can also take pieces of outfits and mix with separates for an entire new look as well. For example, the cocktail dance dress that Gidge blogged the other day is a perfect resource for mining for ingredients in a new look. Here, I take the bodice and sleeves and mix with a sash from Personal and a skirt from Sn@tch for a new look.

Expectations 7 – Royal Expectations

Marie Antoinette was a fashionista. She’s not the original fashionista because there’s Du Barry and Pompadour. I am sure if we could only find the style section of The Imperial Times of Rome, we could discover Calpurnia’s favorite stola maker. Fashion is probably as old as human existence since we just know that some cave women draped their skins better than others. Still, Marie Antoinette does have the singular distinction of being someone whose love of fashion not only contributed to her death, but to a revolution. I guess it is possible to take love of fashion too far. Sshhh! Don’t tell Gidge!

Anyway, if Marie were alive today, she would shop at Sn@tch, and she would buy this dress. Good grief, it’s named after her. I shot it at Utopia 04-Markus Inkpen. When I choose a place to shoot an outfit, I generally choose one of two approaches. Either the setting and the clothing are in complete harmony, such as a 20’s style gown in a speakeasy or  they are completely dissonant such as this bright colorful fantastical dress in this somber sim, apposite and opposite you could say.
