Mesh and Frillies and Makeup OH MY! So many new goodies have been released this week I just can’t keep up. Elikatira finally released one of the sweetest hairs called Abbey. The store was packed when I picked it up, I bought it and got the hell outta there. If you are into makeups that are on the unique side, I suggest Nuuna’s Skins. She is so very creative. I’m wearing Zion in grey in the pictures.
I am going to see Cocorosie in a couple of weeks here in LA and as the date draws near I find myself wanting to blog extravagant outfits. I found such an outfit at House Of Rage. I’m all about the sparklies and feathers…which is strange because my avatar is not a girly girl. She is feminine though, I just tend to love dark colors.
Cracked Mirror looks like they are dipping into the mesh mania and to them I give two very enthusiastic thumbs up! We first saw this cute dress for TOSL but you can purchase a variety of colors at the store now. It’s called “Pleated Dress” and I’m wearing it in grey. I can’t wait to see what else they come out with.

Is it cold where you live? It’s not where I am, I think it reached 80 degrees here in So. Cal on Christmas. Luckily SL provides me with all the snowy wintery goodness I could ever need. I can’t remember where I took these shots but I believe the sim is in the destination guide.
Anywho, did I mention how much I love mesh? No? Okay, well I love the mesh. Here is an outfit from a shop called TEN”10. I got the sweater, the skirt and the boots together for like 600L from the marketplace. Not a bad price at all. The outfit makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Perhaps it’s because the outfit IS warm and fuzzy.

She knew it from the start…there was no one who loved this little dolly. One day she was just thrown away and forgotten about. It wasn’t such a horrible tragedy, she dusted herself off and vowed to eventually find a new home. This is my first fashion post in quite some time. I was super excited when IOF invited me to be a part of their blog and I hope I don’t screw it up.
I came to realize last night that being out of the fashion loop even for a few months makes one feel like a total noob when it comes to shopping, especially for someone who wears mostly just undies. It’s true, ask anyone, I’m always in my roos.
Anyways, I browsed my small inventory for things to work off of and I found nothing so I decided it was time to head to the marketplace. I wanted something kind of fancy/edgy/christmas-y. I think I pulled it off. I found most of the pieces except for the hair and skin off the marketplace.

For some reason the regular Second Life viewer decided that I could only log into the beta grids. I tried all sorts of things to convince it that I wanted to go elsewhere, but it ignored me and kept defaulting back to the beta grid. Eventually I manual deleted all my App Settings folders for Second Life, deleting the cache, preference, everything. Since I had to reset my preferences anyway, I thought I might give you a walk-through of how I set up my computer to shoot photos.
First I press CTL-OPT-D to open the Advanced Menu. I want to be able to cam all over with my camera so Deselect Limit Select Distance. This not only lets me edit things far away, but I can also option-click on them to bring them into the exact center of the picture. Then I Disable Camera Constraints so I can move my camera vision all over, far away or close up. I select High-Res Photos because it doubles the pixel count of the pictures you save. I also select Quiet Snapshots to Disc so that I don’t get the click sound and also so I don’t make a cheesy smile in every picture. I also enable the Show Development Menu for some things later one.
(Handy Tip #1: See that Rendering Types Menu. Remember that! If you are editing a prim and it runs away from you and gets buried in a mountain or if you move your pose stand and accidentally lower it into the ground you can go there and rescue your lost and buried items. Just deselect Surface Patch and the ground disappears and there your things are.) Continue reading
