Belleza has a ton of tones and looks in their new skin LEILA out at the Arcade this round and I’m excited to bring you a preview. This is LEILA 6 and she’s COMMON – not rare, but man I love the lipstick.

I always think skin is one of THE BEST gacha pick ups – it’s a SKIN for goodness sakes. That’s like gold especially to a blogger!

Belleza’s rares are designed to fit our various hair colors and I’ll show them to you later but I had to show you this gorgeous pink lipstick! Now I need to go put some on in RL and run off.

So Why DO You Blog, Anyway?

I can answer that question in many parts. First of all, it’s a hobby that ties in with two things I’m fond of, Second Life and fashion. It’s an activity in collaboration with my best friend, Cajsa, and with good friends I’ve made along the way like Hybie, Till, Acha and the rest of the team.

It’s also an ego boost. Anyone who says that they don’t get high when they’re invited to blog an event, receive a review copy or simply get a compliment, we’ll, they’re lying to you. I’ve been doing this for over five years, and I can tell you – I dance just as hard and happily when any of those things happens as I did the first time it happened. My first review copy was the LUCY Skin from LAQ. I remember that moment like it was yesterday.

I think, as I watch folks post their daily posts, I am missing your passion – the piece of your blog posts that are YOU. Where did you go? Are you just bogging XYZ because everyone else is doing it an you don’t want to be left out? WHY?  Continue reading →

Clef de Peau

Cajsa had on a skin the other day that took my breath away, and with over 5 years at this blogging hobby, that’s not an easy task. It was pretty understandable, when I found out that it was created by none other than Marcopol Oh, the amazing photographer whose keen eye for beauty has astounded folks on FLICKR for some time.

The skin has so many options for customization it boggles the mind. Makeups, beauty marks, lashes, freckles, cleavage, plus the requisite SLINK huds (good job new skinner).

This is default lighting on my platform so you can see the skin in regular light.

I can’t wait to dig into this box and try more options.

Those of you who are always looking for a new look that isn’t “the same”, this one is for you.  Cajsa blogged everything and then some previously. As you can see, even between she and I this skin has a very different look.

I got comfy new SLINK add on shoes from LVLE – called OLIVIA this weekend, and decided it was a perfect day to take them on a stroll around the grid. I decided to just surf around and see what was going on. I found the Fantasy Gacha which looked innocuous at first.

Although there was no one working this food cart, I was a bit hungry, so that made me sad. However, I ventured onward. Continue reading →

The Lost Doll of the Forever Tea

Many years ago, she became aware. Like any mind that becomes instantly aware, she had many questions, but alas, there was no one around to ask them.

On her tiny island home, she found many things, plant life, creatures and some structures. She seemed to have knowledge of what to do with all the things she found, knew their names and function.

Ingrained in her was the need to serve tea, though she did not know for whom. It became an obsession, to the point where she would stand by the teahouse door, and wait for the guests that never came.

Fast Five It’s been a long time since I posted a Fast Five, mainly a combination of working on the Love Donna Flora event and my laptop breaking again. I need to get back into my blogging routine.

 

  1. This Doesn’t Happen Often – But I’m Offended. Raquella Warholl of La Brujita  is offended and so am I. She is writing about the ill-conceived Homeless Awareness Hunt. Even the best of intentions can go awry when care is not taken to avoid perpetuating myths and stereotypes and when the objects of your compassion become caricatures. The hunt-organizer Joshuan Banx has a different opinion and offers his rebuttal by Clearing the Air. 
  2. The Drax Files: World Makers [Elie Spot] She is one of the most successful SL designers and makes it sound so inviting. I also love that the Love Donna Flora! sim is captured forever in the video as part of the video is shot there.  Continue reading →

There was an AREA 51 themed party this weekend at The Garden to celebrate this month’s theme, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted to be a poodle skirt diner girl or an alien. I dithered and went back and forth. The best part was, I was putting it all together from fun new and old items in my inventory – proof positive that you don’t have to go out and bankrupt yourself to participate in fun theme events. Swimming In Mitosis

I wandered over to LEA6 this morning, because I didn’t know what to shoot. When in doubt, LEA sims will always provide some inspiration and things to think about. This build is called Mitosis.

It tells you what it’s all about, there are three levels that represent various things in your existence. You fly up to the second two levels to experience those works.
