I swung by the Gulf of Lune for a visit. It’s such a lovely sim, peaceful and relaxing. Perhaps it comes from growing up on a lake, but I love the lakes and marshes of Second Life. For my travels, I wore this lovely top. It’s from Kunglers who have begun making mesh now, too. It comes in five sizes though I had to wear the large instead of my usual medium. The top is sexy as all get out as you can see. The pants are from Peqe. Oddly enough, I had to wear the large size in those as well. I think I must have accidentally added some weight.
I picked up the lovely outfit at My Attic at The Deck last week and just am getting around to wearing it. It is such a happy outfit, that I decided to go to the lovely beachfront sim Juicy that seemed sure to suit the mood of the dress – and of course it did. Those shoes you see are from Gos – his espadrilles that came out right about the time Viewer 2 got rid of invisiprims, so they are are current as if they had been released yesterday.
I love Lana, the new mesh dress from Baistice. It comes in 6 fabulous color combinations and has lovely details such as the ribbon strap on the top which I mention since my hair is covering it up. The denim fabric is a great, practical fabric for travel and running around shopping. I like the polka dot belt with the read buckle – and decided to highlight it by wearing red accessories. I decided to show you what I wore to Gidge’s party on Monday. It was a Christmas sweater party, but I ignored the ugly part in the ugly Christmas sweater instructions and wore this lovely Christmas sweater from artilleri. I was not alone. Three of us there wore it in green and one wore it in blue! This was a popular sweater. I paired it with the red mesh miniskirt released last week by mon tissu. My booties are 2 years old, from Redgrave. They had huge invisiprims, but I edited them into a nubbin and hid them inside my feet. I tried on a few alphas until I found one that worked. With that, they work as though they were made this year.
And here’s one of my Christmas presents from Gidge – Christmas earrings and a necklace from Frangipani Garden! The hair is a new release from Exile called Veronique.

This morning I was confused. I knew exactly what shirt I wanted. I couldn’t recall having WORN it though. But I knew I had it, and it was perfect for a half day at work and I had it all planned what I was going to wear.
As I stumbled around in the early AM it came to me. This shirt was from Miamai.
Cold weather does nothing but inspire me to skin pixel animals and wear their furs and hides for my own comfort. In RL I don’t believe in wearing any animal I don’t eat – that seems reasonable to me, but in SL I’d skin your baby unicorn and wear it with glee.

Back in my infancy when I graduated from high school and thought I knew everything, I gave the valedictory speech at graduation. My title was “You get from life what you put into it.” How smug that sounds to me today. The lessons of time and experience have taught me that life is much more random that that. The course of your life is not determined by hard work and will alone, but by hard work, will combined with health, luck (good or bad) and sheer randomness. You can control some factors, but not all of them and even with the best of control of your own efforts, you can’t control others. We all like to take credit for our successes and blame outside forces for failures. That’s human nature. There is, however, one way that we still have control and it’s in how we react. Are we positive or negative? Do we try for more kindness in our actions and less bitterness? Our attitude to the randomness of life plays a major role in how we get along and move along in the world, so I guess that old speech wasn’t so bad after all.
