Crazy Arms

One of the hallmarks of Paper Couture is bold design. Strangely enough, there’s just a bit of hedging the bet with this gorgeous Roaring Green Ruffles dress as they offer the sheer bodice in sheer black or sheer black with polka dots, but seriously, we have to choose the dots, don’t we?  Without the dots, this is a lovely dress, with the dots, it’s a lovely and dashing dress. So let’s go for the Crazy Arms.

In Love With Sysy's Lucy Sweater and Scarf Set

posted by Gidge Uriza

This sweater and scarf set was right on the money, given the arctic blast that is gripping most of the U.S. I had to dress Gidge up warm, lest she catch a cold. The Lucy sweater from Sysy’s has GREAT scarf options – you can wear it around the waist cinched or around your neck – I couldn’t pick so I wore both. Continue reading

I've Forgotten Something

posted by Gidge Uriza

I know I’m having trouble getting back into the routine after Christmas break but……I forgot an entire shirt!

Oh no! 🙂

I wanted to show off the new leather jacket from Second Wave Apparel and just didn’t want to detract from how cute it was……..so I did opt for nothing at all. You don’t mind do you?

I’m also wearing slinky leather pants from Sn@tch and a pair of my favorite boots – The Cowboy Boots of Evil from Sn@tch…….because I was feeling very leather-riffic once I put the jacket on. Continue reading

FLASH! AHHHH! He'll Save Every One Of Us….

Do you remember the Chinese Shop without a name? They sent me that a lovely full outfit called Ting? Ok well I’ve learned to call them Frost Pavilion for now and that this is their slurl.

And when they sent me Ting they sent me this Ming the Merciless inspired Henchwoman outfit – that I absolutely went nuts over tonight, as you can probably tell. I had some time on my hands. Continue reading

Simply Ballroom

I turned my husband from a robot into a hooman to show all the girls (and heck guys too) that there is a great option for dressing up your man this New Year’s Eve.  The PARTY IN VENEZIA tuxedo from Musashi Do just HAPPENS to have a vest which PERFECTLY coordinates with the BROCADE PRINCESS gown – also from Musashi Do.

This brings you a great cohesive style as a couple without that lame “Oh they wore matching outfits how cute” look. These are not matching outfits – rather they are formal wear made to coordinate and compliment each other. And it’s perfect for New Year’s Eve balls and events!

As a girl dressing a boy AV for only the second time (the first time was when I dressed us Winter) – I was a little bit worried about figuring it out cuz MAN this tux has options. My husband was finishing up some other things so I was left to my own devices for a while running back and forth between two computers trying to figure it all out.  And there is where I have to share something AWESOME. You Make Me Weak…I Wanna Die……

posted by Gidge Uriza

The recent release of this chemise by Milady’s Fancy had me in mind of that great tune by Journey – Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ which isn’t nearly as sexy and romantic as it possibly could be – if you listen to the whole thing. But that first line…..it’s sooo passionate.

It was the first thing I thought of when I slipped into this.

And I didn’t put on a skirt shape. So enjoy the bootie. That’s right! I’ve got the big bootie and I don’t care!

I happen to know that some people LIKE their girls with curves! So there!

A Date with Frosty the Snowman

Well, not really, but if I did have a date with Frosty, I could not go wrong with this amazing gown from MiaMai. The gown is called Ever East and is a sinuous sexy shimmer of a gown that sleekly slides along your form. With a higher than thou side slit, it’s a perfect reveal of the fantastic Ice Queen skin from PXL Creations. A special holiday gift makeup for the fabulous July skin, this skin has delicate tracery tattooing on the legs, back, bodice and arms.

They say you lose 45% of body heat through your head…

This Hymn dress from MiaMai makes me smile. At first blush, with that cozy, cuddly hood it looks all warm and snuggly. Then of course, there’s the plunge, or more accurately the two plunges as the back plunges even lower than the front. Let’s just say Mrs. Claus might feel a brisk wind or two. This dress certainly seems designed on the principle of conserving body heat by covering up the head.  Now, of course, it’s a myth that you lose more heat through your head than any other part of your body. When those tests were done in the 50’s they were comparing  lost heat with people wearing winter survival gear but no hats – not people unclothed everywhere.  Oops!

Brocade Princess by Musashi DO- not just for the spoiled Barbie AV

posted by Gidge Uriza

This dress will be getting a lot of play around the feeds by all the Barbie Princesses like me (oh heck INCLUDING ME) so I felt it was important to point out that beautifully made fashion is rarely for one set of fashionistas.

It’s all about how you wear it, now isn’t it? Continue reading
