The Second Life Fashionista Achievement Awards

Cajsa and Hybie and I put our evil minds together and decided that we do in fact think there should be an END GAME on the Grid and we are here to help  you get there. I mean, how can you WIN if you don’t rack up achievements? Welcome to the first installment of – THE SECOND LIFE FASHIONISTA ACHIEVEMENTS. Have you unlocked these yet? Continue reading →

Cajsa Fast Five: March 15th

Fast Five Today is the eventful in a different sense of the word. It’s full of events, so perhaps it’s “eventfull.” There’s the opening of Skin Fair and The Boutique, the deadline for the hottest photo contest in town, and Fashion For Life moving toward its too-soon closing on Sunday. And that’s not all!

  1. The Magic of Oz and the Frustration of Mesh: Carrie Lexington muses about the changes mesh has brought to Second Life and it’s not what you think. She has an interesting perspective and one that many will identify with.  Continue reading →

Pink Fuel – Alyx

All is right in the world again. I was like emo about not being able to get into the skin fair early, which is obviously my fault because I’m lazy and didn’t apply to be in any of the blogger groups. Anywho, tonight Mochi passed over the tone of my choosing (pale of course) and I’m in love. This skin called Alyx in the porcelain tone is so adorable. The shots are raw shots, I’ve edited nothing on the skin.

Hybie’s Seven Second Life Facts – Meme

I wasn’t sure what I was going to write to go along with these pictures I took last night then I remembered there was a new meme from Strawberry Singh floating around. ( I would link it to you but it appears the link button is broken, it’s greyed out and I don’t know why). On that note, let’s get started.

1) I NEVER know what to write when I’m blogging. It frustrates me to no end when people say bloggers should write. lol. I just want to post pictures and say a few one liners and be done with it. I don’t feel I have anything interested to say. Honestly, I might make up some shit here because I’m already struggling.

Cajsa Fast Five: March 14th

Fast FiveIf it were not tacky to highlight something from our own blog, I would tell you to read Gidge’s 7 Facts or Opinions for Berry’s meme because it is honest and funny as hell, but it probably is tacky, so I won’t tell you to GO NOW and READ Gidge’s 7 Facts or Opinions.

  1. Whiskey Monday: The Connecting: 365 SL Lives project is a wonderful glimpse into the people we encounter in Second Life. I have admired Whiskey Monday’s art and writing and love getting her perspective on SL, how she experiences it and what it means to her.

7 Facts or Opinions

Seven Facts? Sure.

I wasn’t much in the mood to do the Seven Facts Meme but, I couldn’t think of anything else to say, so let’s see:

  1. Gidge is my first avatar. I’ve said it before but some of you might be new, Gidge is also my RL nickname. I didn’t realize I was supposed to be creating an alternate person.  I’ve been told recently that the fact that I’m so just “myself” in world that it’s off putting to people living their fantasy on the grid.  I think that’s why I spend most of my time alone lately. I Am Doll Parts

DOLL PARTS

I was excited to get a chance to check out this mesh hybrid avatar from a.e. meth for Skin Fair 2013. I have a Bloom Doll avatar which was a fun bobbled headed adventure, but this is something different – more of the vein of those who love the variety of dolls of the world and dressing them up. Who Knows Where the Time Goes?

mar13_010

I love the high fashion style of this black and white striped dress with the big shoulder epaulettes from InMonster for Fashion For Life. I prefer clothes that don’t make the alpha go all the way to the edges, it make shots from anything but a straight angle difficult. Of course, many designers do alphas right to the edge because shoppers get irritated at having to tweak the slide even one notch. For me, I would rather tweak that notch and not have little gaps. There are none showing, but from the back, if you are at the wrong angle, you see the yawning emptiness of alpha along the very bottom of the dress. Still, I love its style and it looks good from most angles. I love how the sleeve stripes go the opposite of the dress stripes.

Who knows where the time goes? Take today for example, it’s 4:30 and all I have accomplished is shooting these blog pics. I have not even done my Fast Five yet. Where did it go? To chatting on plurk, browsing the news, reading about the new Pope and other dithering. Speaking of time going, Fashion For Life is halfway through, so it’s time to make an effort to go there and help support American Cancer Society. In the fight against cancer, the time goes far too fast.

Across the morning sky, all the birds are leaving
But how can they know it’s time for them to go?
Before the winter fire, we’ll still be dreaming
I do not count the time

For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?

Seven Facts

mar12_004

The top and skirt from Tee*fy are emblematic of the New Romance theme at this month’s Collabor88. I could not resist the oh-so-feminine fishnet gloves from Adore & Abhor. They are old, but they are wonderful.

Berry has asked for folks to participate in her Seven SL Facts Meme and as they saying goes, “Let no good meme go unpublished,” so here goes.

1. I own the same 512 sm piece of land I bought back in 2007 when I joined SL. It’s on the Linden Ocean and I will never let it go.

2. One of my favorite things to do in SL is playing in the ocean with my 1L sailboat I bought at Enkythings my first week in SL.

My Little Doll Rose

Dolly_0033

I have a little doll;
I take care of her clothes;
She has soft flaxen hair;
And her name it is Rose.
She has pretty blue eyes,
And a very small nose,
And a cunning little mouth;
My dear little Rose.
I have a little sofa
Where my doll may repose,
Or sit up like a lady;
My knowing little Rose.
My doll can move her arms,
And stand upon her toes;
Or make a pretty curtesy,
My funny little Rose.
“How old is your dolly?”
Very young I suppose,
For she cannot go alone,
My precious little Rose.
Indeed I cannot tell,
In poetry or prose,
How beautiful she is,
My darling little Rose.
