It’s Digit-All

Strawberry Singh is all up in our digits again, and wanted to know how mesh has impacted our shapes.

I admit freely, that I was definitely a SCREW YOU I WON’T CHANGE MY SHAPE AND YOU CAN DIE IN THE HELL OF THE UPSIDE DOWN SINNER sort of person, when mesh came out.  I WASN’T ABOUT TO LET THESE BASTARDS MAKING MESH CHANGE WHO GIDGE IS.

And then, mesh actually came out. I tried it on.  Continue reading

Bunga Mawar

Pink Flamingo

The Luka dress from LeeZu is all about the fabric with its beautiful design and the form, with its exaggerated sleeves.

It’s funny how the mind works, I was looking at the fabulous new mesh dress from LeeZu and its extra-long sleeves. They reminded me of three former housemates of mine from Malaysia. They were Muslim women who usually wore Western dress but with longer skirts and a hijab that covered their bodice and sleeves to right about the length of these sleeves. They were already in my mind when I saw the back of the dress and all of a sudden out of my memory bank popped the Malay expression for rose, bunga mawar. I never actually learned Malay while living with them, but absorbed enough that I could contribute to a Malay conversation in English. I thought I had forgotten everything until I saw this dress.

Pink Flamingo

A bunga mawar by any other name would smell as sweet.

And the beat goes on

jun262012

This new babydoll dress from NYU is perfect for dancing and will let the beat go on in baby blue or pink.

Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

Charleston was once the rage, uh huh
History has turned the page, uh huh
The mini skirts the current thing, uh huh
Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh

And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on
And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on
And the beat goes on

What else could you do with seven itty bitty men…

June 25, 2012

The Lily dress from Baiastice comes in several lovely colors for the Fairy Tales 2012 event.

Cinderella’s on her bedroom floor
She’s got a
Crush on the guy at the liquor store
Cause Mr. Charming don’t come home anymore
And she forgets why she came here
Sleeping Beauty’s in a foul mood
For shame she says
None for you dear prince, I’m tired today
I’d rather sleep my whole life away than have you keep me from dreaming

’cause I don’t care for your fairytales
You’re so worried about the maiden though you know
She’s only waiting on the next best thing

Last Day of Chic2 and Only 3 More Days of SL9B

Oasis

The worst thing about events is that they close and I always feel that I have not seen enough, highlighted enough or done enough to share the great variety of creations at the event. That’s certainly true of Chic2 which closes today and of SL9B. The entertainment ends today but the exhibits will remain until the 27th. You should definitely go exploring and if you’re a freebie hunter, this is prime territory for freebies. Today I am wearing Tare, a new dress released by MiaMai with a summery pop art print in several colors. I chose orange because I picked up some orange shoes at Collabor88 that I wanted to wear.

Oasis

But first take a look at this gorgeous tree from New Trails. It’s only 100 lindens at the moment – part of the Spruce Up Your Space event. It’s at New Trail right by the landing point. And then there are those logs on the floor with the moss and bracken. They also come with big mushrooms, but I edited them out since they were more fantasy than I wanted for this. It’s from Gallimaufry and free at their SL9B just two parcels down from the Blogger Carnival. There are six poses in the log, but they were laying down and sitting poses that didn’t work with this skirt and the handbag.

SL9B – so much to see

At SL9b

Here I am standing right in front of a striking kinetic sculpture of light and magic just down the street from our Blogger Carnival. I spent a few hours wandering around a few of the sims last night, barely scratching the surface, but there was so much to see. I dressed for exploring in this loose, casual top from Tea Time with leggings from Maitreya.

At SL9b

Peek-a-boo, I see you.
