The Drama Train Never Stops On Sunday

There is something to be said for Sundays away from the computer. You miss a lot of name calling and raging and shenanigans. It seems like, on Sundays, our friends are unable to defend themselves and require us to rage against people that they may or may not be mad at. It also seems like, everything and everyone can’t just like, don’t worry be happy.

I however, opt for the latter. I made jello. Jello is, in my belief, one of the finest treats around. I am considering making something that I am told Australians love, Fairy Bread. I don’t know yet, that’s a maybe. Continue reading

Vacation Clothes

Growing up we had a family tradition of vacationing at the Gulf of Mexico. All people from Indiana do so, from what I can tell. Once we had settled into our hotel, my mother and I traditionally went to a ladies “beach store” and we each got one nice sundress, matching flip flops and sometimes a necklace.

Shell necklace obviously. Continue reading

Falling Upward: This Dress Is Made of Antimatter

jun05_004

While scientists at CERN have been designing an experiment to see if Newton’s apple might fall upwards, they results are in. Scientists at Peqe Laboratories have already developed a method of collecting antimatter without annihilating the planet and proven that yes, indeed, antimatter does fall upwards. How else to explain the anti-gravity powers of the Nine dress from Peqe? What keeps that dress up? Anti-matter, obviously.

While noting that this dress does almost miraculously fall upward, it does have a couple of issues that make you trying the demo particularly essential if you are one of those people who will not adjust your shape on single digit. She kept the alpha as small as possible, so you will probably need to adjust the torso just a bit. I had to reduce my cleavage a bit, making the breasts a little farther apart so there was no alpha showing along the neckline. In certain poses, a bit of skin pokes through right below the bottom of the neckline and at the back of the skirt. It is perfect 85% of the time or so, but there are a few poses that break through. The only option for 100% coverage is making the alpha disappear the entire body under the dress. Some designers and fashionistas like that, some prefer the body to remain as whole as possible. That is solely a matter of personal preference, not good or bad design. Antimatter can make it stay on the shoulders, but it does not fix everything.

You might have thought that it was held up by the back of the dress, but see…It’s clear that it plunges past normal bounds both back and front and would naturally slide off the shoulders and bare far more than is Safe for I Heart SL if not for antimatter. Continue reading

Sometimes There’s Nothing For It But Beach Therapy

Sometimes real life gets too real and my avatar and I need fantasy STAT. My favorite aspect of having a Second Life playground is the ability to choose a climate, real or imaginary, and immerse myself in it. I suppose it’s a primal urge, the rush to the sea that so many of us get in SL. It’s not just a luxury, something calls us there, there is nothing as relaxing and calming to me as time at the sea.

Even a virtual one. Continue reading

I Have Some Boots You’re Going To Need

So I have NEWS! If you remember the FLUX events, the Mardi Gras, the Taxidermia event, then you might be excited to learn that FLUX is returning with a new monthly THEMED event. What’s fun about FLUX is that it isn’t a big discount room full of crap you don’t need, rather it’s a themed event where invited creators are releasing lovely items based on that month’s concept.

The first concept in the hopper is AMERICANA and I’ve got a sneak peak at the EASY RIDER boots from Memento Mori by FLUX creator GHOST MANNEQUIN. You’ll have to wait till July but it’s shaping up to be an AWESOME event. Continue reading

Fameshed for The Arcade

It’s happened. The flurry of lindens stimulating the economy are flowing as everyone goes MAD collecting at THE ARCADE and picking up the amazing new releases in mesh at FAMESHED.

I thought the billiards dress from Trompe Loeil (The Arcade) might be a bit too masculine for my girly abode but no, I put some flowers and myself on it and it’s plenty girly. Cory Edo is mad for cute drawer pulls, these are adorable as well. Continue reading

I Don’t Care I Do What I Want

I Do What I Want_001

Sock and hose together? I don’t care I do what I want! Bag doesn’t match shoes? I don’t care, I do what I want!

I had Eric Cartman in my mind as I put on my gacha prizes from The Chapter Four, yeah I’m still going on about that. I like taking all the gacha things and then wearing them all together. It’s like a sport to me. Continue reading

Both Sides Now

may08_001

Flowey has a fun and whimsical set of clouds at Collabor88 – rain or shine – Flutter Memel looks at clouds from Both Sides Now.

Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way

may08_007

They rain and snow on everyone.

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

Fantasy Fair Is More Than That

Retro Is My Fantasy

Second Life is a fantasy world for us all. I’m perfectly thin, I’m blonde again (the color of my childhood hair). My house is never messy and and I can simply log out when I’m annoyed.

It’s a shame then that awesome events like Fantasy Faire sometimes get looked at like “oh if I don’t have elf ears or cloven hooves it’s not for me.” Continue reading

Modern Romance

apr11_003

I can never resist a beautiful feminine and romantic ball gown. I found this one at AVENUE Fashion Week. I missed the show, but saw this in the Retail Gallery. One of the joys of Second Life® is having a closet full of ball gowns. I love how this gown from Arikea combines the soft colors and floral patterns of traditional romantic gowns, but with a thoroughly modern eye. The floral patter is abstract and made even more so by being so very large. The colors are soft and pastel, but not your granny’s pastels – not with that brown.

apr11_002

The gown itself is a traditional shape ball gown shape with a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and a full skirt full of drama. The modern edge is totally fabric and color choice. I wanted to emphasize the modern color palette and tinted my white cloves just a slightly darker shade of brown that I pulled from the skirt.

Ariskea made shoes that are a perfect companion to the gown. These shoes come in three colors as does the gown. apr11_004

I added jewelry from Donna Flora and and an updo from Exile called Part of Me. I love the loft on this undo.

I chose the new PXL skin for Collabor88 called Jade. I love the dramatic makeup.
