Proportions Challenge Questions:

  1. Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – I guess not, I try t make them some what realistic but I’m not a stickler to making it perfectly proportionate. I think it’s really almost impossible to do so given the limited range in number on the mesh.
  2. What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – The back, it does this strange wonky thing near the pits unless you go full throttle on the shoulder slider.
  3. Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? – That depends. There are some people (most of whom I think are probably men) who want that super exotic and shapely female body but go crazy on the tits and ass and max them out. Like, come on…who looks like that? But, it’s SL..so live out your fantasy I guess. Who am I to judge?
  4. Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? Like I said, they can do what they want but I think pony riders and trex arms look ridiculous and wish that trend would do away.

PixelProm Stag

I had originally planned not to attend Pixel Prom because my husband is still away in Azeroth, so I figured, eh, why bother. Plus the time was bad for me. But then things changed and the time wasn’t so bad after all…and so I thought well, hell, I could slip on some nylons and something floofy and head over for a while? Continue reading

Beach Blanket Bingo Is For Ugly People

To celebrate the opening of THE GARDEN this round, there was a beach party over at THE NEST. It just so happened that I had a new bikini and nowhere to be for at least an hour, so I failed to touch up my roots yet ran over anyway to frolic in the sand with everyone. Continue reading

I Just Wrote To Say…

I have been on a quest for the pinkish typewriter from Floorplan and after several days, I found it and danced with joy when I took it home to begin writing my masterpiece. But what to write? Continue reading

The Light Masters – A Beginners Windlight Tutorial

The problem I find with most tutorials is that they are guides to enhance a skill you already have. It’s difficult to ever find a tutorial that assumes you don’t know how anything works, or what to do. So for SL10B this year, I decided my contribution would be the sort of tutorial I’m always trying to find – a tutorial for people like me who haven’t a CLUE how to do something.

For many people, there’s tweaks and adjustments that make them and their avatar unique. Some of the best bloggers though, are those who control their light and force the grid to do their bidding without the aid of PS or other tools.

You have to start somewhere, and making something simple is always the best way. So what I’m going to do is teach you the way I learned. Who knows, maybe you’ll be a new Strawberry Singh or Gogolita when you get good enough at it. Cajsa’s a pro, but this is beginner stuff. This is how to do it if you really really don’t even know where to start. Continue reading

Summer Is My Social Season

I would never have thought it but it seems like I’m running a daily habit of being social . It’s a nice change from being a hermit in my own house, or out shooting on location. I have now, three days in a row, actually seen and interacted with other toons that I calls friends.

My friend Isla invited me over to her place for some night swimming and visiting. Dani was there too, but I only got half of her in the pic so I cropped her out. PLEASE LOVE ME ANYWAY DANI! Continue reading

The Drama Train Never Stops On Sunday

There is something to be said for Sundays away from the computer. You miss a lot of name calling and raging and shenanigans. It seems like, on Sundays, our friends are unable to defend themselves and require us to rage against people that they may or may not be mad at. It also seems like, everything and everyone can’t just like, don’t worry be happy.

I however, opt for the latter. I made jello. Jello is, in my belief, one of the finest treats around. I am considering making something that I am told Australians love, Fairy Bread. I don’t know yet, that’s a maybe. Continue reading

Vacation Clothes

Growing up we had a family tradition of vacationing at the Gulf of Mexico. All people from Indiana do so, from what I can tell. Once we had settled into our hotel, my mother and I traditionally went to a ladies “beach store” and we each got one nice sundress, matching flip flops and sometimes a necklace.

Shell necklace obviously. Continue reading

Gidge’s Fast Five: The D Day Edition

GidgeFast Five Well it’s the anniversary of D-Day. It’s not a big fashion event but I thought I’d mention it as it was rather important so give it a tip of the hat at least. And now, some completely not military nor WW2 themed posts that I enjoyed today.

1. Under My Umbrella: A celebration of color and looking back at May’s Collabor88 which is getting ready to close. You need to run fast if you want to get any of the goodies and this post was a great reminder of what is going to be gone soon soon soon soon.

2.Caged Bird: Khitten Kurka brings the curvy avatar to us in a sexy way. She’s one of my favorite curvy bloggers and always presents crisp clear photos and inspires shopping. Her styling in these photos is concise and relevant. Nicely done. Continue reading

Sometimes There’s Nothing For It But Beach Therapy

Sometimes real life gets too real and my avatar and I need fantasy STAT. My favorite aspect of having a Second Life playground is the ability to choose a climate, real or imaginary, and immerse myself in it. I suppose it’s a primal urge, the rush to the sea that so many of us get in SL. It’s not just a luxury, something calls us there, there is nothing as relaxing and calming to me as time at the sea.

Even a virtual one. Continue reading
