One of the exciting bonuses of Vanity Universe Skin Fair is that you know that Tricky Boucher of Belleza will have a new skin to fall in love with all over again. Tricky is not one of the skinners that rolls out something new every few weeks. Instead, he spends a long time on each skin, perfecting it so that when you go to Belleza, you know you will get one of the finest skins on the grid. And this skin, Melissa, does not disappoint.

Rumor Has It
Rumor has it that Hair Fair is coming soon! It starts next weekend, to be specific. You should check out the Hair Fair blog for up to date information, including an explanation for their decision to set up as two sets of two sims instead of one set of four. As someone who has spent 20 minutes or more at a time bouncing off a sim border – that explanation makes sense to me. However, I think the best idea for this year is the creation of a Hair Fair Demo group you can join. Think of the possibilities. Not only can you try on the demos at your lag-free home at your leisure, but you could get together with friends and have a Demo Dance. Gidge & I threw a Hair Demo party once and it was hysterical.
Speaking of rumors, here’s a happy one and a true one. Miko Omegamu is back releasing new clothing for Icing. It’s been nearly a year since her last release, so I was thrilled to go to Icing and pick up this gorgeous Pink Lemonade dress.
Okay, neither of those were rumors. However, since I shot the dress at The Rumor, I could not resist the conceit. The Rumor is a beautifully made market sim that has a very photogenic landing point. And a camel with pink hair!!! Continue reading
Dandelions
I love how things just fall into place in SL sometimes. For example, I went to nostos:deer to shoot this outfit and came across a patch of dandelions and tall grass on my walk to the beach. Just last night, Tenshi Vielle sent a dandelion out to a group I am in, so it seemed like I had to stop and shoot this beautiful dandelion white dress from Lelutka there.

Party All Night Long!
Well, until Midnight anyway! Last night I had my 3rd Rez Day Party and we danced for hours and despite Gidge’s best efforts I did not wake up with a dozen strap-ons – though we did have a bumper car attraction for the party last night. It was incredibly fun!! I wore this bright and lively skelton dress from House of Fox. All those vibrant psychedelic colors just screamed party -especially on my dance floor which is aglow with all sorts of color itself. The pose, by the way, is from a recent set from Glamourama Boa’s Just A Pose highlighting plurkers! This is December! Incidentally, Plurk won 2 Stylies for its impact on the community and best third party site.
This one is not from that set but from a set of fetish poses by Just A Pose, but I had to include it because I love it! Besides, it shows off the dance floor. If you come to a party at Lost in the Stars – you will discover that the dance floor gives everyone a bit of a rosy romantic glow. By the way, Sasy took pictures.
hai(r)evolution
Hair in Second Life has come a long way since Washu first developed prim hair. This evolution has gone from prim hair to flexis, sculpts and combinations thereof. Over a year ago, we first started seeing hair bases with attachments, usually a bun, ponytail and perhaps an updo in blonde and black, but still limited in variety and color. With the 2.0 tattoo layer we saw a new innovation, the hair base on the tattoo layer with attachments best illustrated by Monica Outlander’s creations for MiaMai which I will highlight tomorrow. Today, I will stay with the skin plus hair base innovation and its tremendous expansion with the release of Baiastice’s new Pulchra skin by Sissy Pessoa. It’s not just that she also includes brunettes and redheads, but it’s the great variety of hair styles she has produced to work with her hair bases. So many, in fact, that I made a slide show to show them all to you.
