The new lounge seat for outdoor relaxing at Collabor88 is from Second Spaces and I was excited to see it comes in a pink washed wood tone. Obviously this one is my favorite.

The wintry weather is probably kicking me pretty hard by now, in my southern style coat. Luckily in SL I was able to keep warm thanks to Amitomo’s release for THE ARCADE. It’s even got a handy pouch for my passport. Which is PERFECT as I’m out of the US!

There have been a few mesh mouths out, and I LIKED the way they looked but any time someone tried one on and said they liked it they also mentioned what editing they’d have to do in PS to “make it look right”. I don’t mind putting on a filter to give a different look to a pic other than SL lighting but I won’t blur or whatever else to make products “look right”. If you can’t wear it around in SL without it looking nuts, I don’t think it’s a good value. I don’t have PS so that’s also an issue but hey I COULD get it. I wouldn’t make products look ok with it though, I just have huge issues with that. Continue reading
I am literally in the spirit, the Spirit Charlotta blouse, pants and suspenders from this month’s Collabor88. The blouse comes in multiple versions so it can be worn with or without the suspenders and with other options than the pants. The pants are pleated so they are a bit big around the hips and taper to a cuff that reveals fabric matching the blouse. The suspenders come separately for maximum flexibility. I always like it when separates are truly separate pieces.
Scarlet Creative released a lovely townhouse at this month’s Collabor88 and I enjoyed decorating it, mostly with elements from Trompe Loeil, Floorplan. & Consignment, and junk for this month’s Collabor88 as well as some things from Apple Fall and ::db:: that I had in my inventor
I could never live in the desert. It is not just that I do not like heat, but also that my psyche needs green. I discovered this after I moved to Montana for a time to help my sister. I was unaccountably depressed while I was there, sleeping much more than usual, lethargic, weepy and not at all my usual self.
Then I decided to take my nephew on a college tour back to Minnesota. When we got toward the eastern side of South Dakota and the brilliant greens of a well-watered landscape came into view, my heart lifted. I felt a euphoria that was so intense it felt as though I were floating. In that moment, I realized that my misery was more to do with the colors of the landscape than any other factor. I moved within two months, back to where the land was green.
That does not keep me from appreciating and loving the stark beauty of the desert. The subtle striations of color, the cracked and blistered earth, the desiccated silver of the tree trunks and the hazy dustiness of the succulents are beautiful. I love the plane geometry of the landscape that we cannot see when covered with an abundance of flowers, bushes, grasses and trees. There is something magnificent and courageous about the flora and the fauna eking out a life in these marginal landscapes. There is a profundity in this life of scarcity – this life on the margins.
But it is not for me. I want a green land. Give me the entire green rainbow from the palest milk green of an Easter Rose to the deepest darkest greens of a Doug Fir. I need green to live. It’s that fundamental. But, one of the nice things about Second Life® is that I can visit the beauty of the desert without the heat or the misery. And the desert at ISON is particularly beautiful – a living desert, not an ocean of sand. Continue reading
I got in before the rain but I’m tired! Collabor88 this month is jam packed for of goodies, and it’s almost Valentine’s day which is nothing but AWESOME to me.
I don’t get the Valentine’s hate some people throw. While I am married in RL, I don’t have a significant other in SL. That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it and celebrate it in SL! If I didn’t have a husband or boyfriend (or girlfriend) in RL – I always celebrated it with my friends, telling them I love them and enjoying a day meant to celebrate love (and Hallmark Cards). It’s Only Fashion: What was your first day in Second Life like? What made you stick it out through the learning curve?
Bubbles Clawtooth: Oh what a glorious day the first day of SL was! Bubbles wandered about aimlessly in a misshapen female avatar, lost in a landscape of random sims “For Sale”, sex clubs, neko (remember them?!) and furr oriented sims. Second Life was a treasure trove of bizarre and wonderful things and Bubbles knew immediately he’d fit right in.
Any “oldbie” in Second Life knows that it wasn’t exactly the most user friendly years back. In fact, in cold reality Bubbles almost didn’t come back to Second Life *because* it was quite challenging to figure out. The thing that made the biggest difference was meeting wonderful people who were willing to share information and help get over that hump! Continue reading
