Early Morning Cheefulness

Ok I can’t help it, at some point in my SLife – despite a fierce love of sleep – I became a cheerful morning person. I like to slowly enjoy my coffee, some music, some quiet. It’s a lovely way to start my day.

New lingerie from Luxuria doesn’t make it a hardship for sure. I’m wearing one of the colors you can pick up at the Gacha Guardians event.  Continue reading

Strange Shadows and Ominous Portents

An early studio day has me questioning whether I need more coffee or what. My shadows have been wonked since about 7 am, with my shadows having shadows.  I’m not sure why, but I have decided to call it art and roll with it. I can remember when it was the case of “some had shadows and some had none”. Well now I have more shadows than you.

LOOK ON ME.

Just kidding, I don’t know what that is but hey, it’s not the worst thing that ever happened. Continue reading

You Can’t Go In Here

I think everyone’s mom but mine had that room, that perfect living room. The room where things matched, and were coordinated, where things got dusted.  We never had that room, we had chaos and messy and mismatched furniture.

When it came time to buy my own house in real life, having that room wasn’t much of a priority to me either – I coveted a proper dining room. But secretly I’d love to have a room where everything is as it should be. Where guests can drop in and you have no worries about what scary things might be hidden in the couch. Continue reading

After A Journey of 900 Miles

I’ve been desperate for three days to sleep in my own bed and now that I’m here I can relax. I’m so glad to be home on Juicy again, where I can sleep listening to the waves crashing on the shore.  It’s a perfect spot for me, and I have to admit I feel so very spoiled living here.

I can’t quite relax enough to get to sleep. Continue reading

Seraseeya, Watcher of the River of Souls

Helena Stringer - IOF - Seraseeya - 1

Seraseeya was an unusual creature. With a foot in both worlds, she was neither human, nor fully a beast. Her mother was a harpy who had the unfortunate accident of picking a human male as a mate. We wont go into details, but the result was Seraseeya, and her 3 other sisters.

Things were not too bad to start. The Harpy Broodmothers could tell there was something a bit different about them, they had funny feet and they lacked claws on their hands. There was not a feather on their head, nor much hair to speak of.  They let them be, thinking they would grow into their features.

As the years passed, it became apparent that there was indeed something wrong, they looked more human, than harpy. This would not do.

More story and credits below the cut.

Set A Lovely Table

My grandmother was obsessed with  dishes, and setting a lovely table. She had dishes for sandwiches and soup. She had dishes for this party, and that party. She had no less than five full sets of dishes when she died, and twice that of small sets she’d bought for entertaining. Continue reading

No One Else Leaves Or The MerKitten Gets It

In the past week I’ve had three deaths around the edges of my life, 2 in SL and 1 in the RL. I’ve had it.

Cajsa nailed it. It’s not a game if it makes you cry. Both of the people who died this week were not my besties. We didn’t talk “all the time”, we didn’t share secrets. But they were people who I took for granted, so my rage and grief is based in ego because I’m feeling sorry for myself that I didn’t value these people more. It’s causing me to evaluate myself, and wish I could do more for those who truly lost something, for those whose grief isn’t based in ego but in loss – some of whom are people I care about so very much in both lives.  Continue reading

Friday Flowers

You might think Sascha’s Designs is just big old battleship sized ballgowns but you’d be missing out on a large part of what she releases these days if you did. She’s been making dresses and more casual wear (less formal?) for a while and she very frequently delights me with her releases. Such as this cheery dress recently released. It’s got a HUD and you can change it among four very fun summery prints. There are so many colors in this I had a hard time choose shoes and accessory colors. Continue reading

Enough Is As Good As A Feast

Auntie Mame said those words and I believe very strongly in all things said by Auntie Mame. If the world were a perfect place, I would be Auntie Mame. Sometimes people write about what their SL fantasy is, perhaps they blog it – they’re a hunter or a goddess or a trashy slutty girl who has to put her goodies out on flickr for everyone to see 24/7. That’s their fantasy and I say go in peace, unless you don’t mark your goodies shots as adult on flickr and then well, I want to pinch your nerbs bcse that’s just rude. Continue reading
