23/09/2018 – Good Hair Day
As Gidge told you earlier, Hair Fair is here!! If you needed an extra reason to go, here are a few :
- It’s for a good cause : every purchase has a 15 to 40% donation to Wigs For Kids.
- The sims are really easy to navigate : start at landing point, follow the path and you will walk by every store.
- Everything has been made so that it’s not lag fest : minimalist decor and scripts. I do however recommend you wear a full alpha and nothing else, and show friends only, to help keep everyone’s experience nice and smooth.
- If you’re a hair whore like me, you’ll have your fix of gorgeous hair!
What? Still not convinced? Take a look at just a few of the gorgeous hair that can be found there :

Long Styles from Hair Fair in the Frame
This new top and skirt from Hucci for Collabor88 is just the ticket for showing off some of the longer hair styles from Hair Fair. It’s short, cheeky and free of collars (or even fabric) to interfere with the hair.
I had college roommates from Malaysia who wore sarongs all the time. It was amazing how active they could be without their sarongs coming loose. They showed me the proper way to wear a sarong and even gave me several sarongs over time, but I never quite got the knack and always worried when I had my hands full that my sarong might come loose without a hand to grab it. No such worries with the Hucci sarong though. Pixel knots stay in place.

The Clock Is Ticking As The Cold Winds Blow
One of the things it’s easy to forget as the frenzy dies down, is that the ARCADE is open all month. Those must have items you wanted, well they are still there. Didn’t want to pay 10X the price for a rare at some yardsale? Well, you might just get lucky with a full pulls at the mothership and after all there are still a few very good days left for Arcade shopping. Continue reading
Hair Fair Designers — Queue Marlowe
Who has not gotten lost in the forests of hair at Analog Dog. From my first visit, I have found the quantity and diversity of hair overwhelming. This comes from a long history of creating hair and from the skill to create hair that stands up to the test of time, changing fads and changing technology.
Any hair lover will be able to recognize Analog Dog hair in an instant. Creator Queue Marlowe’s style is easily recognized in large part because her hair moves. Flexi has gone out of fashion in large part because it cannot be rigged and because people struggle with alpha glitches. Marlowe cannot avoid the rules of alpha layers, but she can stretch those rules and she can outwit them – as anyone who has tried on her hair can see. Analog Dog hair is unique, long may it wave…and bounce.
It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?
Queue Marlowe: Craziest? let’s see… does making hair count? After I swore I’d never do such a silly thing? Silliest would have to be thinking that making hair was a silly idea. That and spending a week as a ball with wings. Most exciting still goes to designing avant garde costume for a real life virtual museum exhibit. Continue reading
Hair Fair 2012 Updos
After a lot of wandering, lots of unpacking, even more sorting, tremendous generosity from creators and far too much spending, I have shot a large sampling of the updos available at Hair Fair. If you want to check specific photos, you can click through to the Flickr set.

Modavia Fashion Week 2011.10
Applonia Criss of Chantkare knows prints and can match them better than anyone. She has a bold palette and paints with an assertive, confident brush. This gorgeous skirt and top are perhaps the most subdued in her collection for Modavia Fashion Week, but the quiet details won my heart. I love the skirt sculpt with the the ribbon edging and trim and the gentle gathers. And green is my favorite color!
Sparkle
The Cloud 9 dress from Icing had such a lovely sparkle that I had to find the right setting to show it off. I hopped around exploring new places for about 40 minutes before deciding to go back to the wonderful, tried and true, Embryo.
Embryo is such a beautiful sim and so romantically lush with flowers and that gorgeous rich, red draping that I am in love with.

Lettuce Begin Again
SL rezzes clothing for me again – at last. It’s not back with all the bells and whistles yet, but hopefully the next update will fix that. I have been wearing this dress for 8 days while trying to get a snap of it. I am so glad it’s such a lovely dress in case anyone saw me wandering around. It’s the dress Sissy Pessoa designed for Leah McCullough who represented her home country as Miss Uruguay in the Miss Mundo Virtual contest.

Sharif Don't Like It
Now the king told the boogie men
You have to let that raga drop
The oil down the desert way
Has been shakin’ to the top
The sheik he drove his Cadillac
He went a-cruisin’ down the ville
The muezzin was a’ standing
On the radiator grille
The sharif don’t like it
Rockin’ the Casbah
Rock the Casbah
The sharif don’t like it
Rockin’ the Casbah
Rock the Casbah
By order of the prophet
We ban that boogie sound
Degenerate the faithful
With that crazy Casbah sound
But the Bedouin they brought out
The electric camel drum
The local guitar picker
Got his guitar picking thumb
As soon as the sharif
Had cleared the square
They began to wail
The sharif don’t like it
Rockin’ the Casbah
Rock the Casbah
The sharif don’t like it
Rockin’ the Casbah
Rock the Casbah
