One of the reasons I love the jewelry at Balderdash so much is that when you zoom in on it, you can find whole new worlds. Take this Bit of Earth Necklace which is lovely and attractive from a distance, but when seen in detail, reveals so much more than you would suppose. Whether you’re zooming in on a pair of earrings and finding some words from a book or tiny shamrocks, the true revelation of Balderdash jewelry is in the fine details. It’s a very quickie today as I’m showing off a new release skin from AMACCI and so gorgeous soft hair from EXILE.

Jenny is the new skin release from AMACCI, I’m wearing the CANDY makeup in Fair tone. It’s a nice tone for blonde girls. I love the pink lips.

The Caramina hair from EXILE is so fluffy and pretty I want Kavar to do my RL hair now. PLEASE KAVAR?

Halloween 2011 – Retro Vampire, Very Retro

For the It’s Only Fashion Halloween soiree I decided to be a very retro vampire. Think Louis the 15th. I’m saying Louis the 15th simply because my hair doesn’t have boats and birds and crap in it, which I identify more with Louis the 16th.

It’d been so long since we had a party, and as always Cajsa had an awesome playlist set up for us.

I’m using FILTERCAM2 in the pic above to age the shot and provide the vignette lighting around me. It’s a simple effect but using filtercam2 lets me add effects and cuts down on my post processing work, which is minimal usually. The new expansion pack is pretty amazing, tons of new awesome filters – I can’t wait to show off lots of what it can do.

Now, it’s dinner time.

Collecting the Fall

I am making up for lost time this autumn, in that I’m collecting everything I can get my hands on which is fall related and doing seasonal decorating as though there is no tomorrow. I’m not sure exactly who it is for but it’s making me happy so who cares.

I have added fall decorations indoors and out and I have to admit I’m pretty pleased with myself all in all.

This coat from Leri Miles designs caught my attention the moment I put it on, I’m ready for a reason to wear a dressy coat. I do like this one because it’s color change in all it’s parts and you can choose to tone down the brightness of the brooch. Continue reading →

1963 was a seminal year in American life. Ā It was the year of the Kennedy Assassination – a moment like 9/11 where everyone alive then can tell you what they were doing at the moment they learned of it. It was also the year that brought us Doctor Who and the release of the first Beatles album. Ā 1963 will be celebrated in all its glory tonight at theRock per Annum event at the Velvet. Exploring the development of rock from 1960 to 2012, each week focuses on the music of just one year. It’s been a fascinating process so far because the music for each year is so much fuller and more varied than one expects.

It's a Matter of Perspective

I was getting read to shoot this outfit when Gidge and I went shopping. After a bit of a spree, we headed over to Collabor88. Now I thought I had put together a pretty good outfit, but I had that affirmed with a massive compliment when out of the blue a total stranger asked if she could shoot my look for her blog. Of course I said yes! I still hadn’t settled on earrings yet, but I was close to done.
