You need a Christmas tree. I firmly believe this. Even my Jewish friends have Christmas trees. So even though I’m just living on a bit of borrowed space, I felt like I had to have a bit of holiday spirit to make my skybox a home. Continue reading
Pose Appreciation: Status
Pose Appreciation Week is winding down and I hope all the bloggers highlighting the role of poses in their work have succeeded in their goal in highlighting the many good and great posers in Second Life. I could not participate in Pose Appreciation Week without highlighting Status Poses from Gidge. This is a new set from Status that has not even been released yet, though it will be available on Marketplace very soon. One of the reasons I love Status poses is the commitment to story-telling in Gidge’s work. Her poses are narrative poses, conveying mood, activity and drama. Many are snaps in mid-step, in the process of turning. While she does provide some of the standard fashion pose sets, her real passion is for slice-of-life poses. If you want a pose to tell a story, Status is the place to start looking first.
My dress is from Loovus Dzevavor and with the bold print, color-blocking, and the sleeveless shift shape, it channels the style of 1960s Carnaby Street in London. It’s available in several bold prints and colors.
A Little Lace Love
The Secret Store & NYU released a fabulous dress with a subtly simple design. The high waist, pleats and the hem, cut on a different grain for contrast, add to its visual interest without being over-designed. There is also lovely feminine Flanders lace collar that softens its minimalist aesthetic.
Happy Thanksgiving
I hope all our American readers stuffed themselves on our traditional feast day and took some time to reflect on all that is good with our lives. š Continue reading
LOTD
I’m not frightened of this world believe me
My corset is a cage and my boots are embroidered with beautiful skulls. I’m feeling a surge of thanks for Second Life, because it always provides me a place to hide away and create something. Creation is blood, and having this avenue of creation open to me no matter where I am or how my body feels is a wonderful thing. Happy (US) Thanksgiving. I’m off to celebrate tomorrow in true joy for being where I am, in the 21st century, in this world, in this Second life. (O hey, Cajsa is wearing this neat caged corset from Plastik too!)

Pose Appreciation: oOo Studio
Poses are what separates avatars from mannequins and dress up dolls. They convey emotions, attitudes and actions. In a photo, we can have the most beautiful setting and glorious gowns, but without a pose, we have no narrative. They are the verbs in our Second LifeĀ® stories. Olaenka Chesnokov of oOo Studio is a wonderful storyteller. Do I really have to tell you that this pose is from her Bitch series? Can’t you tell by looking?
Skully Is Girly Too
I am running around the grid covered in skulls and swathed in girly fun despite the macabre emblems decorating my dress and boots. Ā The Sugardoll dress from BLUEBLOOD is a perfect fit with these new boots from Lassitude & Ennui, I have to admit a bit of a squee when I realized how cute they were together. And these are at the Unhinged Gacha for 60 a pull! EEEEE!Ā GACHA!
Just a bit of a squee, because you know, it’s not like I ran into a sorority sister at the mall…. Continue reading
After the Gold Rush

I wore this dress for the Grand Opening of CAE, the hottest new jewelry store in Second LifeĀ®. It’s flirty skirt is perfect for dancing. The fabric, with its layers of gold makes me think of handmade paper. With the metallic fabric and the exaggerated shoulders, it sort of reminds me of a suit of armor, which made me think of After the Gold Rush.Ā
Well, I dreamed I saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.

I Have Been E-Clipsed
Thetra Blackheart, the designing hand behind E-Clipse Design, shows a sure hand with print and color in this gorgeous dress. I love how the contrasting print on the fabrics and how they echo and reflect each other. It has a completely modern look with a fun, casual style.
