A Fabbie Goes To- Bliss Windlow

…..because she made me cry with laughter on the post  Why Amateurs Should Never Explain the Gorean Way – Especially to a Feminist.

Oh Christ I’m still laughing.

Q:”Why is that girl being dragged on a chain?”

A:”She must be really slow and need remedial obedience classes…..”

“Don’t worry – she LETS him own her……” OMG I LOVE THIS POST……

Oh BLISS you have slain me on a day when I had to get out of bed and face the dragon. I am absolutely in tears considering exactly how this conversation went.

I also love that she mentions that people shouldn’t be allowed to mix metaphors in their role play. That’s brilliant.

THIS post was fucking fabulous.

Bliss rocked my socks this morning, and thus – gets a FABBIE.

OH and The Goreans getting offended in the comments? Seriously. That’s almost as good.

PS – I don’t mind Goreans. But those leaving ugly comments here will not only get published, but a good laugh. Have at it.

Porcelain & China

When I saw the delicate tones of the new Baiastice skins in the Porcelain tone coupled with the delicacy of the lace jacket for this DCNY outfit, I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot – in China. Not the China of hustle, bustle and the Great Wall, but the watercolor China that you can find in the magnificent China sim.

This shot gives you just a small idea of the wonderful photographic opportunities you can find in China. I also played a little bit with perspective, using the CTL-8 lens change to the max to give it a shift in perspective.

It's a Dream

I had planned to shoot four of these gorgeous tops from Orage Creations but SL had other plans. It decided that despite all my plans, I would be a cloud for the day yesterday. Seriously, I tried clearing cache, restarting not just Second Life but also my computer and the SL, SL Beta, SnowGlobe, Kristens, Emerald and Emerald Beta viewers and despite it all, I stayed a cloud.  I finally resolved the issue about midnight, but I was not going to shoot photos that late, so I will have to be content with showing you just the gorgeous zebra Dream Top and let you check out the leopard, snake and fleur (b and white brocade) on your own.  The Orage Creations Main Store was closed for renovations this weekend, but the tops can be found at affiliates in Best of SL, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia. For latest locations check Elettra Gausman’s profile

I shot this set at Third World – home of the Third World Bar and Third World Kino. It’s a beautiful sim with many tiny set pieces of surreality and beauty for you to enjoy.  To get a taste of the amazing scenes at Third World, take a look at the Flickriver stream of interesting photos shot there.

Monday Relax

posted by Gidge Uriza

If you think my SL blogging planning is an insane jumble of busy you oughta see my RL planner. I’m so far behind I’m first. So it was with absolute joy that I slipped into something comfy as soon as I could get home.

Something comfy like this awesome new release from Phoenix Rising – the Oxygen shirt in Ice and the Tiffany Shorts. The shirt also has a prim attachment for a baby doll look but I wasn’t in a baby doll mood, I was feeling comfy and just shy of that prissy. You can see it HERE.

Yeah I know, I’m messing with the creators vision. But I LOVE Phoenix Rising and think that they will understand that I had a new tummy that I’m in love with and didn’t want to cover up. Continue reading

Quick Look:Baiastice for A Work Day

posted by Gidge Uriza

Real Life has reared her ugly head and is sending me off packing to go to work. WORK I say. Complete with work clothes and phrases like “Reach Out To” and “That’s a Win for Everyone” or “It is what it is”.

I’m trying to introduce phrases such as “lolz”,”Full of Win” and “I K R!” but so far they’re falling on deaf ears.

Style Notes:

  • Top – Baiastice
  • Pants – Baiastice
  • Shoes – Baiastice
  • Hair – D!va
  • Skin – PXL Creations

Inspiration

jul24_003.jpg

Sometimes when you see a design you can trace its roots and inspirations in the choices of fabric, color or textures or in the shape and forms it assumes. In this dress from G Sloane Couture, you can see two inspirations at work. The print in the fabric draws pays homage to the fabulous art of Gustav Klimpt. In particular, it reminds me of the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer though it is clearly not a copy of that dress or his work, but something inspired and re-imagined from memories and admiration for Klimpt’s work.  The form of the dress is very original, with its squared lines and offset angles – and in it I can see the architectural work and Art Deco influence of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Barbie Pink Is Always In Season

Sacha’s Designs recently released GABRIELLE’S DREAMS and it reminds me so much of my first formal gown I’m giddy.

Of course, my gown didn’t have all these skirt and jacket options allowing me to create tons of looks. No, I was just forced to deal with the one skirt that came with it, IMAGINE! Continue reading

Yes Master

One of my best friends from high school is still someone I keep in touch with. As long as I’ve known her she’s had this kind of serious looking scar right over her left eyebrow.

I asked her how she did it, finally, after years of knowing her, and she repleid, “I was playing Frankenstein with my little brother.” To which I said,”Huh?” Continue reading

Expectations 9:Hippies,Yippies and Sn@tch

posted by Gidge Uriza

Nothing said Summer of Love quite as well to me as this patchwork dress from Sn@tch and since I was determined to wear something hippie festive with this hair from EXILE – Miranda in Ash for the Summer of Love festivale.

If you are old enough, you know that they called them both yippies AND hippies however hippies caught on and that’s the one everyone remembers.  I just remember the yippies because my Grandma was forever going on about the “damned dirty yippies”. Continue reading
