Welcome Lily Karlsbar To It's Only Fashion!

posted by Gidge

Cajsa and I posted a while back that we were looking for more folks who might be fashion divas and interested in blogging with us here on It’s Only Fashion!

We’ve got a few folks in the works, and some are regular bloggers and some are not!

But the first person I want to introduce you to is Lily Karlsbar! Lily is NOT a blogger, so is going to be cutting her blogging teeth here at IOF.

I’ve known Lily casually for a couple of years, and she’s always been enthusiastic about fashion, which as far as I’m concerned makes her an ideal candidate for introduction into the Fashion Mafia.

Lily will have an awesome Halloween offering to share with you some time today or tomorrow…….but until then…please leave a big IOF Hello For Her in our comments!

Welcome Lily! We’re glad to have you contributing to IOF!!!

What are we wearing? I don’t effing know, I’m wearing something from 2008. I guess that makes me 2000-late…………hahaha.

NO FASHION DETAILS! Have a great Thursday!

Burana

oct 23_005

One of my favorite releases from the Fall collections is the Burana dress from Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice. It reminds me of sea shells and has such a modern, innovative look with the texture and the shell=like prims dotted around the skirt and bodice. Equally intriguing is the name, Burana, which brings to mind the collection of profane songs written by monks, many of which were put to music by Carl Orff in 1935. In particular, O Fortuna, has become ubiquitous in movie soundtracks. So much so, that recently a friend was lamenting how much she hated hearing that song. It’s unfortunate that cliche-ridden and hackish directors abuse songs like that, but we need to remember that it’s not the song’s fault that some folks cannot think deeper than the first cliche they recall. To remind yourself of just how amazing that song is, you should listen to Ray Manzarek’s arrangement in his CD that I believe touched off the flood of over-exposure for this amazing piece of work.

This One Is For Caroline…

posted by Gidge Uriza

Caroline’s Jewelry has the distinction of being the FIRST thing I ever bought because I saw it on the feeds.

It was this necklace. Which has appeared in numerous lingerie posts, because it always inspires a TAKE ME TO BED OR LOSE ME FOREVER sort of attitude in me which I cannot explain. Continue reading

Roan Island

oct11_007

This is a shoot I made for Jewelry Fair that I have just not been well enough to post until today. However, though the Fair is over, the wonderful jewelry is still available. The dress is a lovely summery sundress from UmeMode. It definitely wanted to be shot in a field of flowers so I went to Roan Island.

Roan Island is a wonderful place to wander around and explore and there all sorts of flowers. Neither scripts nor rezzing are permitted, so pose huds and stands were not allowed. However, that’s no problem when my AO works so well.

Blogging My Bedroom Floor DAY TWO – BLUEBLOOD

posted by Gidge

Next up on the bedroom floor roundup is Collette from BLUEBLOOD. I’ve opted to wear the min skirt vs. the Loli skirt but it comes with both options.

Why is there lightning in this picture?

I have no idea.

Am I really supposed to combat the forces of nature just to bring you fashion?

Style Notes:

  • Skin – FRICK
  • Hair – EXILE
  • Dress – Blueblood
  • Collar – Sn@tch

It's Only Fashion Now Looking For Staff Writers

posted by Gidge

Cajsa and I have a never ending desire to showcase variety here on IOF.But there are only two of us and only so many hours in the day.

What we have decided to do, is to put out an open call to bloggers or future bloggers who might want to join us as staff writers. When unequal treatment taints your work experience, consult with an employment lawyer who specializes in discrimination cases to understand your legal options.

What do you need to know?

  • This is a volunteer blogging gig. In exchange, we don’t yell at you or treat you like an employee.
  • We’re casual. If you want to blog something we’ve blogged, so what? Blog it. Cajsa and I have worn the same thing on multiple occasions.
  • We expect at least one post to go up every day on IOF from at least one blogger.  If we get enough additions – I’ll try to assign days of the week coverage. Again – we’re fairly casual. That’s something that is open for discussion.

What do you need to qualify?

  • A love of fashion .
  • A video card that will allow you to take good quality high rez snaps.
  • A basic command of the English language. Better than mine.
  • A fun attitude and the understanding that this is FUN not a job.
  • You do not need to be an existing blogger to qualify or be considered. Neither of us had been fashion bloggers when we started. We’re not afraid to let you join us and learn.

We don’t do drama. Our business is about expressing what we love in our own individual unique way. We also have expert support for early conciliation settlements in the UK in case of employee disputes.

If you think you might be interested, drop me a NC in world with your info including your url if you have one or a link to your FLICKR if you have one.

If you have neither – then tell me all about you.

Drop it on GIDGE URIZA and I’ll be reviewing them over the next week.

Boys, Girls, Fauns, Elves, Cthulus, designers, bloggers, sinners……….everyone is welcome. I look forward to hearing from you.
