Okay, I lied. I said I wasn’t going to take off the new Glam Affair skin I bought today. But, when RubyStarlight and I went to check out Metaphoria today and demo their pretty new skins I couldn’t resist and purchased it.

This brand is new to me and to a lot of others from what I’ve heard so far. It’s so funny because when a new skin maker comes out the first thing people say is “IS THIS AN ALT?” “IS THIS BOTTED?” Which is a shame because we are all jaded from all the crap that has happened lately with other skin brands. I guess we forget that some people are honest. Shit, I hope I don’t eat my words! SEE!!! lol

Casual Thursdays

Hello there! Today is a casual SL day, I did a little shopping and decorated my new loft. I’ve never had a home in SL. I’ve had a sim and a store and a store on a sim and plenty of sky boxes but I’ve never made them homey. I always thought what’s the point, it’s not like I can REALLY bake a pie and I don’t pixel bump so why do I need a bed? Then I realized that this is SL and nothing has to make sense. So I’ve been decorating. I need a cute daybed, any ideas where I can get a shabby chic looking daybed? Anywho, this has nothing to do with my post today but I just thought I would share.

Babydoll

Babydoll dresses.  They’re hit or miss.

This one is definitely a hit.   Maylee Oh of The Secret Store just released this cutie in 7 different color options.   This one is my favorite; I just love mixing up romantic lace with something a bit edgy.   If it were possible to successfully layer mesh pieces, I’d pair this with a fun black leather jacket.  Since I couldn’t, I opted for black tights and heels to highlight the collar of the dress.

Two if By Sea

Longfellow’s poem tells us that Paul Revere instructed the colonials to hang lanterns “one of by land, two if by sea” at the Old North Church in Boston. I’m not sure if this is before, after or during his ride warning, “The British are coming! The British are coming!” But it occurred to me, remembering this poem, that the colonials must have already considered themselves “other” to be referring to the advancing army as “The British”.  Continue reading →

I am notorious for missing things. A floating necklace, a hand intersecting something, my hair stuck in my boob, or arm, or shoulder.  So you see, I took a lot of time with this post. I scrolled through most of Cajsa’s hair fair posts looking for which ‘do I wanted to wear. I had this heart ring from Callie Cline I wanted to wear and I’d been working up this romantical dreamy post all day.

The other day Inex Hax asked for same suggestions for this elegant houndstooth dress she was about to release for Peqe. I suggested Baskerville and then, for some reason, did not see follow-up replies because Plurk was being glitchy. So, when I logged in and saw an object from her named Cajsa, I assumed that she had labeled it for delivery. Until I opened it and saw that the box was called Cajsa because the dress was called Cajsa and that was when my eyes popped and I said, “Hey, that’s me!” Like anyone, I am thrilled to have a design named after me, especially when my name confounds so many people. Even better, though, when the dress is so very much “my style” like this dress. You all know I have a deep, abiding love for sheath dresses and pencil skirts, prints and elegant designs that pull from the past but look to the future. This is all that in one.

Tickled Pink

I love pink hair!

Sometime in my freshman year of high school, I decided I wanted pink hair.  I thought it would look pretty good with my combat boots.  Being a dark brunette, though, I never got the courage to fully bleach my hair so the pink could actually show up.  To this day, I still wish I could do it; the closest I ever came was pink streaks a few years ago.  And though my high school dreams were of hot pink hair, these days I wish I could do a lovely pastel.  Sigh.

But hey.  Isn’t it great we have Second Life, where we can have any hair color we want without all the bleach damage?

With that in mind,  I want to share a few of my favorite pink shades in SL.
