Gidge’s Fast Five July 4 Early AM Edition

GidgeFast Five My Fast Fives nearly always begin with me ego surfing IheartSL for my own poses being blogged. Yes. I actually do that. I can’t help it, I’m an egomaniac but also, I love to see the creativity and how people use the little poses I make. And because I was ego-surfing I found some good things that it’s a moral imperative that I share with you today.

1. Cold Frog and I – Dido Haas took freebies from an art exhibit, hung items and a new release or two and made art. I love these pics.

2. Summer Breeze: Evion Ember took the time to make a Bandana for Bandana Day at Hair Fair 2013 and blogs about how rewarding the experience was and how she chose the texture for her bandana. It’s lovely. Continue reading

Cajsa Fast Five: June 30th

Fast Five This will be quick. I am a bit (a lot) under the weather today. I even passed the stream over to the next DJ just 45 minutes into my set because I just didn’t feel well enough to finish it. But, I  already picked some great posts for you and wanted to be sure you saw them. Sorry if the descriptions are terse.

  1. More than friends: I love the casual easiness of these photos from Kaelyn Alecto.
  2. The Blackened Mirror: I missed this Treet.TV series when it happened, but thanks to 1AngelCares Writer plurking about it I watched it yesterday. Fun, worth watching. Not your usual SL movie.
  3. Delayed: Elle Couerblanc’s heartbreaking entry for the Single Frame Stories challenge.
  4. Drax Files Episode 8: MadPea Games: An inteview with the creator behind Madpea Games, the immersive storytelling experiences that enrich SL.
  5. Connecting 354 Lives – Don Mill: One of the more innovative entries in this series. Don speaks to Donald. And Happy Anniversary!

Only 24 More Hours for Your Tropical Escape At MY ATTIC

W.Winx and Flair have an adorable set of beach towel gear at My Attic and it’s going to not be available for the awesome 95L price after tomorrow. The towels work for one or two, but alas I am but one.

They’re full of fun fancy posing animations though and are gorgeous rich tones, perfect against your amazing beach tan. Continue reading

Government Housing Redux: Spruced up for Summer

I’ve spent the past few months making my government housing abode comfortable and in keeping with my need for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I like where I’ve landed, at least for a minute or two. I’m always on the lookout though, for that amazing low impact item that I just MUST HAVE. 117 prims is not a lot to work with. Thank the Lindens for Mesh.

So then, let’s come inside.

I did add walls to my Linden home. My bedroom is directly off the entry way. I’ve spent a long time picking up the 1 Land impact items to tweak this room I’m pretty happy with it. Continue reading

Cajsa Fast Five: June 27th

Fast Five Why did I wake up at 5 AM when my cat didn’t even wake me? Clearly, he has so effectively trained me to wake at 5, he doesn’t even have to bother standing on my face any more. You would think waking up so early would mean getting more done. Why doesn’t that happen?

  1. Liberty and Justice for ALL: Vaki Zenovka celebrates the marriage decisions handed down from the Supreme Court yesterday with a brilliant photo replicating the iconic V-J Day kiss with Lady Liberty and Justice. I love it.
  2. The Top Ten Innovations That Have Shaped the Face of Second Life Fashion Over Ten Years. SL10B finds Iris Ophelia reflecting on the history of SL fashion and choosing what the thinks are the key innovations. See if you agree.
  3. Dust in the Wind: Luna Daines in a sweet outfit with two lovely photos. I kind of love the falling leaves, even though they fall suspiciously neatly.
  4. The Impish One: Serene Fairey is so well styled I want to rush out and buy everything.  I love Art Deco and she does it very well.
  5. Violin: I love the sweet romanticism in this ethereal photo from Liv Haalan for her blog.

I Am An Ugly Pink Flamingo

You might not know this about me, but I was set adrift by my fashion blogger parents as a young Zooby Baby sized fashion blogger, and wound up on the shores of Juicy. There I was taken in by herd of Pink Flamingos who raised me as their own.

Sometimes, late at night, I sneak back there, to visit my secret family and tell them how I am, and all the news in fashion blogger land. They pretend to listen. Continue reading

Good Things

I like things that take like 1 land impact and are awesome. I was desk hunting the other day, and besides finding “daddy little %&^ bucket” desk, I was having trouble locating something that was ME.  I like my home in SL to be comfy and cozy, maybe a bit worn and lived in. I want it to be a place where you feel welcome.

My friend Isla Gealach (and contributor here at IOF) popped in and said DUH, I made on it’s 1 Land impact.  It’s from CHEEKY PEA and if your land impact needs are constrained it’s BRILLIANT! Continue reading

Gidge’s Fast Five: Mostly Nepotism Edition 6.25.13

GidgeFast Five

Today I’m highlighting posts from some of my favorite folks on the grid, as well as a something that I spotted that looks kinda cool.

Let’s take a look…

1. It’s a Beautiful Day: Whimsy puts together a great look featuring fun from My Attic and other goodies. It’s an adorable girly look so you know, I’d have loved it if it wasn’t Whimsy anyway.

2.The Sum of Our Parts: You’re always bitching that you never leave your platform and never get to go do anything. Here. This looks cool. GO DO THIS TOMORROW! Continue reading

Gidge’s Fast Five 6.24.13

GidgeFast Five Hello my pretties. I saw a couple of posts today that made me scratch my head and go huh? But, that’s probably because I don’t much peak outside the world of fashion blogs in SL because fashion in SL IS MY WORLD.

That being said, let’s see what I’ve dug up for you.

1. Avatar Self Portraits In Landscapes: This is inspired by Botgirls post, and begs the question, is this any different from me finding a cool location courtesy of Hybie or Honour and shooting fashion there? Is it?

2. Pouty Avatar Selfies: This is the post that puzzled me, thus I invite discussion. My entire flickr is so called Selfies, because I blog fashion. I don’t take pics of other things, my friends don’t take pics of other things for the most part – so, is this bad? I feel kind of weird being compared to the duck lipped selfy shooters of RL Facebook fame when what I do is actually a bit more complex than that. But maybe in my 2nd existence, it happens to be the same and I don’t know it. Maybe the RL Ducklip girls don’t know they’re a joke either. Continue reading
