I have been wearing Wasabi Pills since 2008, though the first year I was wearing Wasabi Pills skin and then later, when she began wearing hair, I started wearing her hair, too. Between Gidge and me, there are nearly 200 posts with Wasabi Pills hair. I do not know if I was one of the first to blog her items, but I do remember that when I first blogged her skin, she sent me a warm and friendly note. I also remember how when mesh hit the grid, she hit the ground running as if all that time before mesh was just preparation for mesh when she really got into creating a new level.

Hair Fair Designers — Alice Demonia
I wore my first Alice Project hair three years ago this month. Alice Project holds a special place in my heart for scaring me the first time I put on an all white hair that I applied a texture to. I am certain there was an involuntary squeak or two before I realized I had not broken it and just had to add the hud and click. We are friends on Plurk and I don’t think I will be telling any deep, dark secrets if I tell you she has a wicked, sardonic sense of humor. And as you can see from her favorite photo, “Nobody parties like Alice Demonia.”
Hair Fair may be closed, but you will be able to find these styles in the stores. I have some remaining profiles to do, so on we go.
It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?
Alice Demonia: My Second Life has been pretty boring, I think, hahah. When I first started, I did the standard exploring and trolling and laughing at various sex related sims. That’s probably the most excitement I’ve had. Nowadays, I’m notorious for AFKing at my friends’ platforms or sims for days. I tend to just sort of set up wherever I am, if they’re open to that. The Flickr photo I’ve included is the product of one day where I logged in at a friend’s and everyone just decided to start throwing down things around me, lol. Continue reading
Hair Fair Designers — Alice Klinger
My first hair from Alli & Ali was in 2009, when the Darla hair took the fashionista world by storm. I think everyone I know bought that hair.
Since then, the brand has maintained its reputation for wild, exuberant hair that suits the bold, the outrageous and the wildest among us.
It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?
Alice Klinger: Probably being in SL as much as I am is the real crazy thing. I used to be there 20 hours every day when I started getting creative here, with only small coffee breaks, but recently learned to enjoy the real sun and my real garden again so, I have cut down on those all-nighters a bit. Hair Fair Designers — Mirja Mills
I discovered EMO-tions in April 2010 thanks to a blog post by Sugar Planer. I became a fan of her romantic and wild styles. There is something so undisciplined about Mirja Mills hair. It wants to move and be free. Even with the arrival of mesh, her hair has the feeling of movement and freedom.
It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?
Mirja Mills: Craziest , most exciting and silliest in all was the first year .. when I was sooo addicted that logging out meant pain 😉
The best feeling was to realize that there were people who liked what I create. And awesome always was and is to make wonderful friends in a virtual world. Continue reading
Hair Fair Designers — Emerrem and Bertha Weiss
Emerrem and Berthaweiss are two sisters whose bonds in their real life just make their Second Live richer. Their store, .EMBW. was new to me at this year’s Hair Fair and I was excited to see their creations, particularly since I am always complaining there is not enough short hair.
It’s Only Fashion: What’s the craziest thing you ever did in Second Life? Most exciting? Silliest? Is there a story you can share that captures your Second Life experience?
Emerrem and Bertha Weiss: WE LOVE DOING SILLY THINGS! We also photograph every silly moment. Like one time I wanted to see the creator of the little fairies, I tried to select “Edit” but my mouse went wrong to “Sit here,” the next moment I sit on that little fairy’s head with a silly sitting pose, and she carried me up and up and then stuck into the wall. xD Continue reading
AZUL has a great free gift for SOU Anniversary
I like this casual summer dress from AZUL as a gift for the Sou by Creation.jp Anniversary. It’s loose and casual and just right for this hot summer heat wave that is sucking the energy out of me.
I made a trip to LEA6 (Humanoid) to look around and found all sorts of fun to get up to.
Bright, Bright Sun-Shiny Day
The rain has been gone for several weeks now. It did not even rain for the Grand Floral Parade during the annual Rose Festival, which is, I think, a violation of the Oregon Constitution. I guess we are going to get all of our 68 sunny and 74 partly sunny days in one fell swoop.
I have been feeling lethargic with the uncommon and unprecedented heat wave flattening us here in Oregon, but despite the heat, I did make it to The World’s Largest Louie Louie Sing-a-Long last week.
The Holy Everlasting Church of Zydeco
I stopped off at The Holy Everlasting Church of Zydeco. If you have ever listened to zydeco, you will understand that it is a religious experience. The church was in disrepair, aged and neglected, with chickens running around. Never mind, though, zydeco does not need a fancy venue. In fact, it would probably feel uncomfortable.
Petticoat Junction
I do love a full, wide, pouffy skirt with layers of petticoats. It can have its disadvantages. I was wearing several layers of petticoats under a skirt at a barn dance once. I was sitting out a butterfly on some hay bales one night and a mouse ran across the hay and up the skirt, between the layers of petticoats. What with the netting being very nice for the mouse to grasp and the many layers to try to shake him out of, I must have spent 10 minutes jumping up and down on a hay bale trying to shake him loose.
Of course, no mouse would dare come within striking distance of these spiked heels from Glamistry. They might be too dangerous for the speed of barn-dancing. Imagine stepping on someone’s toe. Fortunately, in Second Life® we do not have such banal concerns and I can wear my lethal weapon shoes without a care.
I began this outfit with the gorgeous Carrie skirt with the Black Rose print. It comes in several other prints, including beautifully feminine florals. However, I fell in love with the geometry of this print the minute I saw it. It is visually striking and makes such a powerful statement. I can imagine is with a massive shoulder piece of feathers for some gala, but for a walk on the beautiful streets of Venice, something less formal and avant garde seemed in order.

It‘s Memories That I‘m Stealing
It’s such a sad old feeling
the fields are soft and green
it’s memories that I’m stealing
but you’re innocent when you dream
when you dream
you’re innocent when you dream

Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week wraps up today, though the shops will remain open for the month. Today I am wearing a top and skirt by Glitter called Lauren. It comes with a HUD that allows you to pick six texture options for the top and the skirt. I went for the solid black top and the black skirt with a pinstripe inset. The top is very short and just barely covers the nipples, leaving the underside of the breasts bare. That’s not my preference, so I added a bodysuit from Sn@tch, using their applier for the Slink Physique so I did not have to worry about the Glitter top fitting over the Sn@tch top. Besides, I think the teal and black lace adds a nice touch. Continue reading
