I’m trying to be healthier. I tend to be just so terribly lazy so I thought to myself, SELF, get up, get dressed in something cute and have some delicious fruit for breakfast. JUST DO IT. Get yourself organized and get some stuff done. Continue reading

Closing Out The Year
Onyx Leshelle was a darling and gave away 7 lovely gifts to Maitreya group members for Christmas. Among those AMAZING finds is this beautiful dress which I thought might make a PERFECT evening gown to ring in the new year. What do you think? Continue reading
Selected Short Cuts and Updos at Hair Fair
Hair Fair opened at midnight and in the overwhelming excitement of “shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen…beautiful hair” it is easy to forget the purpose of Hair Fair. It isn’t actually all about the hair. Well, actually it is, but the hair it is about it not made of pixels. It’s made of love.

Where Things Will Float
You can make things float for no reason in SL. So I am doing just that. I have curtains and leaves and a birdcage for no particular reason. Why not? Who says I have to conform to reason? Continue reading
You Put the Flame on It
My life was cold
You put the flame on it
This heart of mine
You wrote your name on it
With such style
I couldn’t look away from it
Two thousand miles
I wouldn’t stay away from it
Charles Bradley, Thomas Brenneck
Mami puts the flame on me with this fiery red gown that is an exclusive for Fashion For Life. 100% of the proceeds are donated to Fashion For Life. The fiery glow of this gown seems almost a metaphor for the flame of hope in all our hearts that working together, where our “two and two and fifty make a million,” we will change the future for all of us. Our efforts combined with others across the world will change the future by supporting the American Cancer Society. Fewer people will get cancer because of our combined efforts. More people will discover their cancer earlier and begin treatment sooner with a greater chance of success thanks to our combined efforts. More cancers will become treatable and survivable with our combined efforts. None of us can make a difference alone, but together we can move mountains. Continue reading
When a Picture Is Not Enough
There were a few dresses at Fashion For Life that really needed more than a picture. A thousand words might help, but I think in this case a video that can be made easily with the help of Video production company Toronto is a better option. These two dresses from Likka House are great fun costumes. They would justify planning your own circus party – Look at the carousel horses. When you are running out and about you can turn them off so you won’t lag.
Ghee’s Gown of a Different Color and the Laced Up shoes are kind of crazy wonderful creations that reminds me of that old group, Not Possible In Real Life. Do you remember the group? I loved it and miss it quite a bit – it was a celebration of all that is special and unique about Second Life – just as these outfits are.
Forgive my poor videography, my computer is old and tired and when I do a video it crawls in a corner, curls into a fetal position and whimpers.
What color is fire?
What color is fire? It’s not just orange, it’s also red, black, yellow, blue, purple and even green. That is if you watch it and really look at the colors leap and flicker and shift as it gets more or less oxygen and rises hotter or burns lower. I know this dress from Snowpaws is awash in florals, but it reminds me of fire – perhaps flowers on fire.
Luxe
MiaMai’s Monica Outlander has just released her Luxe collection for spring. It includes a dress, top, pants, jumpsuit and long skirt with items coordinated to mix and match. Items include a HUD that allows you to choose the belts, ribbons and other embellishments so you can coordinate tops with skirts and pants easily. I am wearing the Kalia top with the Anya skirt and chose the ribbon to coordinate with the skirt’s print. Each item comes in solids in cotton and silk and in a range of prints. I love the thought that went into the print and color coordination. Speaking of color coordination, check out the gorgeous gold-tip mani/pedis from FLAIR for Cosmetics Fair.
The Citiest People
To the citiest people
In the whole wide world
You’ve been unkind
To an un-city girl
From the stone walls you grew, so
I’m not blaming you
But look what the city –
Just look how the city
Has taken a pretty
And made an ugly of you
Just look what the city
Is doing to you
To the citiest people
In the citiest town
I’m not the one
To be putting you down
From the stone walls you grew, but
I grew there too
And I know that the city
The dirty old city
Can take such a pretty
And make an ugly of you
Just look what the city
Is doing to you
I Enjoy Being a Ghoul
Deathly Silence from Gizza is ghoulishly delightful, curvalicious and macabre, slinky and scary, spooky and sexy and perfect for those of us who enjoy being a ghoul.
I’m a ghoul, and by me that’s only great!
I am proud that my silhouette is curvy,
That I walk with a sweet and ghoulish gait
With my hips kind of swivelly and swervy.
