Always a Bridesmaid

Some of the lovely things presented at Penumbra fashion week this time were bridal gowns. I’m not a big fan usually, so I was intrigued though to see something very understated and elegant from Ever An’ Angel for Penumbra and had to put it on. When I was newer in SL, my friends and I would often put on wedding dresses and run around the grid being mad and silly. This gown seemed to deserve an elegant backdrop.  I think I found the perfect place for the SL wedding I won’t have.

It doesn’t have a lot of seating for guests but that’s ok. I might actually bring Gidge back over here for tea and cakes when she’s done working – it’s rather lovely in it’s amazing white wash of light.

There is even a fairytale-like carriage to bring me to the ceremony. Yes, this is a perfect spot.

I decided to go out exploring the winter fun to be had in SL today, so I had to take a bit to get properly geared up. Cute but warm is the goal – it’s hard to be cute sometimes, especially in RL, when you’re layered upon layers upon layers. I decided to have some fun with my ability to layer on my SLINK PHYSIQUE starting with a sweater from Stellar on the body, then adding mesh over it for a cute RL layered look. Yesterday I was feeling country and today it’s all about the big city. Legal Insanity’s Trunk Show is today and trunk shows are such a city phenomenon.  This Stefani Slim pants are one of the designs featured at the trunk show and they are fun fashion.

Intergalactic …Planetary…Planetary…Intergalatic

I have to commend COLLABOR88. They resisted the temptation and didn’t drive the grid mad with pink hearts even though February is traditionally pink heart overload in SL. I love the pink hearts, don’t get me wrong. But when even I begin to find it tiresome, you know it’s being over done for sure.

I love the hair pin that is the solar system, from UFO. They have some of the cutest packaging on the grid.

I am also trying out three new things today.

1. Mia Snow released a new skin – for 1L as an intro to a new skin line. It’s very pretty. And hey 1L.  Mia was super sweet and has named her skin with the brand MIA14  to help you keep your inventory straight – I think that’s great. Very thoughtful!

2. It didn’t come with eyebrows – or not discernible ones. My friend Lourdes directed me to Soiree on MP and I demo’d all of their tattoo layer brows before settling on Viviane. I have to say I liked them ALL but they weren’t quite GIDGE.

3. I am also finally dorking around with the MonCheri mesh eyelashes Cajsa got me. They’re pretty cool. I fit these to work with style 2 – I thought 1 and 3 were more dramatic and overwrought than I was looking for.  You can choose from various colors, tipped lashes etc for a lot of variety plus one that’s tintable.  You can select upper only, bottom only or both.Nifty.

LaRoo released an adorabe set of heels for us girls who need to make sure we’re always ready to stab your eye out with our shoes.  As always they come in a myriad of colors with tons and tons of pedicures for your cute little toes!

There wasn’t a color match avail for this MIASNOW skin however, I dorked around and got it matched really easily on my own. YAY ME!

The newest release from DE Designs, Inga, sent me running to the store to grab it up (and a few other things). I love the styling of the loose wrap jacket over the tight, button down the side, leggings. They work perfectly with the slouch boots from Maitreya.

Purple 4 the WIN….

I hate naming my blog posts…. so what the heck.. it IS mostly purple!  My ensemble today was inspired by the awesome events going on right now. Namely, Collabor88 and The Seasons Story. I finally managed to get in to both yesterday and did a little Linden damage to my pocketbook.

Purple Party a

First, this lovely dress by Tee*fy, Julianna, at Collabor88. Great for any party or just a night of dancing and fun. I’ve also been enamored with the high feet from Slink and was VERY happy to see these new suede heels from Slink, the Ilse, available for the high feet in the store yesterday. The stitching and button detail are perfect. The nail polish is a fun addition, from Nine Inch Nails (available on the MP) in Zipper.

Heat Rises

I am blogging early on a Saturday morning – 6:30 AM to be precise. Why so early? Mainly because heat rises. My downstair neighbor heats his apartment so much that the heat rising from below eliminates any need for me to heat, but also dramatically overheats my apartment. It’s 42° outside and I have the windows open and am wearing a little as a person can get away with open windows.

In my Second Life, I can dress more appropriately for the weather in a gorgeous new jacket from Legal Insanity. You know what’s insane? How gorgeous this jacket is, that’s what! I love the details, the cinched waist, the tie belt, the paid accents and inset, the bits of shearling peeking at the edges. It comes in plenty of color options and two prints, the plaid you see and a subtle chevron print. Continue reading →

LivGlam had a Halloween Hunt on their sim last month and this lovely dress is something I picked up while exploring the nooks and crannies of the shops. I love how most of her outfits have a HUD for changing the color scheme. Today I’m wearing one of the purple options.
