I grew up in the country and live in a city. I have enjoyed the benefits and put up with the inconveniences of both rural and urban life and in the end, I choose the city. Still, there are times I miss the country. Listening to some neighbor’s car alarm last night, random noises from vehicles, police alarms and a band practicing loud enough to disturb but too quietly to be enjoyed – I longed for the rhythmic lapping of the waves on the shore with the hum of crickets punctuated by frogs and the laughter of loons. So, I went to the country in SL today – with a romper from Peqe (at the Liaison Collaborative) and a cozy jacket from sheep door that I picked up at Japan Fair.

I miss the days when I would get off work and come home and GET READY TO GO OUT. It was exciting, that my day was getting ready to get started at 6pm and the night was ahead. Makeup, hair and nails would be freshened up as we headed out into the adventure of the night.

MiaMai’s Monica Outlander has just released her Luxe collection for spring. It includes a dress, top, pants, jumpsuit and long skirt with items coordinated to mix and match. Items include a HUD that allows you to choose the belts, ribbons and other embellishments so you can coordinate tops with skirts and pants easily. I am wearing the Kalia top with the Anya skirt and chose the ribbon to coordinate with the skirt’s print. Each item comes in solids in cotton and silk and in a range of prints. I love the thought that went into the print and color coordination. Speaking of color coordination, check out the gorgeous gold-tip mani/pedis from FLAIR for Cosmetics Fair.

I have resisted the big butt because I just hadn’t seen one yet that really quite did it for me. I didn’t DISLIKE them I just was MEH, and thus didn’t warrant picking one up. But I was having a Gidgey moment this morning that Sasy was helping me with, and I thought DAMN Sasy looks cute.
I didn’t really realize that she was wearing a mesh butt, her butt looked good but in a subtle way – bigger, rounder, super sexy but not so big I couldn’t stop staring at the butt. And with that she and I were off to demo butts.

“Have you been to Fameshed?”
“No. Not yet. I dunno if I am gonna go.”
“Me too, but I wanna go out. We should go.”
“I dunno. I’m tired. But I might go. Or I might go somewhere else.”
“I wanna go somewhere. Maybe.”
And on and on like that. Sometimes we’ll have entire conversations on how tired we are of the trend of everything being brown. (Look around, it’s a thing. Suddenly everything is dark and brown at some events.)
Anyway, in the course of this conversation, the event CHINESE NEW YEAR came up. We both agreed that the Chinese boxes of awesome made by LARK were must have, and so even though she was dithering about going out I headed over there. The original landmark seemed to have landed me in a pit. From the sky, where I ended up, it seemed like there was a tunnel leading to the event, or a walkway or something, but where I LANDED it was some sort of poofing rendering hell where not only could I not see, I was disoriented and unhappy. I’ve been redecorating my little slice of SL heaven, better known as a 1536 plot. Well I’ve been redecorating it repeatedly actually. I have an addiction to houses, skyboxes and furniture. At the moment, I’m on the ground. While putzing around in my new Miel frock, I noticed that it looked nice with my house and land, and so, pictures were born.
