Up And At’Em

Morning Adventure

I’ve got a full agenda today. That holiday off made it like a Monday all over again. Good grief, I am worn out just thinking of all the things this pixel girl has to accomplish today. But, there was nothing for it but to do it – so I hopped in the car and headed out into the world to cross off my list of to-do’s.

Art For The Mind

After a quick cup of coffee, I decided I was going to start my day out with some avatar enrichment.  So I popped over to an adorable modern art gallery. I see a lot of Pollack  inspiration but the entire collection is one of various mode and tone in the modern school. It’s a fun location to shoot outside as well, so I recommend taking a few moments, and looking at something lovely today. It’s soul filling. I promise.
Waiting for Transport

And now I’ve got to find my iPhone because Siri needs to tell me what’s next for today. I can’t live without her!

It’s Not TOO Late To Get That Party Dress!

DCNY Celebrate! It's NYE!So waddya like in a party dress? Something kicky and festive? Or something formal and elegant like the black HOCO dresses 2022? Well, luckily, the grid isn’t running short of either this last holiday bash of the year. Continue reading

Make Mine a Latte

Dec01_003

You can get some fabulous wardrobe basics for just 10 L at DCNY for the With Love Hunt. This ruffled top is packaged with four colors – black, grey, taupe and tan – and comes with ruffled cap sleeves that I removed to wear with the jacket from Hucci. The jacket has classic styling and was offered at Collabor88 earlier this year. The skirt is out now at faMESHEd and is from NYU. It comes in several bold colors.

I love coffee and I especially love a super-strong espresso latte. I used to live right across from Grand Central Bakery where they made amazing pastries and fabulous lattes. However, their latte expertise was highly developed for me. Whenever I ordered a latte, their barista would ask, “Dry or wet?” and I would stand there confused by my banal assumption that a latte would by definition be wet. It turns out that there is a difference. A wet latte has more steamed milk than foam while a dry latter has more foam than steamed milk. Funny thing, though, I cannot really taste the difference.

So I Had a Birthday

Birthday_006

I didn’t mean to not have a party but I didn’t have a party and then it came and went and I was like FUCK IT. No party.

But I do have a dress. A party dress, to be exact. It’s from DCNY and if I WERE to have had a birthday party then this was my dress of choice. Continue reading

Cross My Heart – I AM A Libra

Libra Girl

DCNY has released a set of dresses for the Zodiac Event – and this Libra couldn’t resist putting one on and strolling around this great retro build. The dress itself has an awesome Logan’s Run sleek look to it, and I’m afraid that with my own birthday just days away I might be up for Carousel sooner rather than later.

But I hope not. Continue reading

Black and White Challenge

aug28_005

Thanks to Maci Restless and IOF’s own Hybie, there is a fun new blogger challenge that I hope gets lots of bloggers involved. While the rules allow for a simply desaturating the colors, I decided to go full black and white and began my challenge by focusing on black and white in my outfit and setting. The dress is one of six options from DCNY for the My Attic Shaken, Not Stirred discount room at The Deck. I chose the black and white Gin dress and clutch. The dress comes with your choice of the traditional crotch flap or a mesh prim skirt, so Viewer 2 or 3 users will be happy. The clutch comes with a relaxed or bent elbow pose for each hand – four options so you don’t have to do a lot of editing to get what you want.

I shot the pictures in the white on white Escher prop from Bent! Although it was created for Vintage Fair, it should be in the store now that the fair is over. It’s a fun pose with 22 poses in the menu and very easy to edit. It’s also modifiable, so you can tint it – though I think it gets its visual power from being white on white and the interplay of that white with the shadows.

A Blonde Arrives In NY

I have a love/hate relationship with hotels. They’re so crisp and clean (if you stay at a nice one). They’re places for peace, and space, and relaxing. Usually, I’m in one because of recreation but this time it’s for work. I’ll be away from my love and family for days. Continue reading

Palm Springs Cottage by Barnesworth Anubis

Barnesworth Anubis has brought us the luxury of the dry heat and of the southwest in his Palm Springs cottage.

The patio and pool are gorgeously landscaped with local plants and it’s roomy enough to add any pieces you might have brought when you moved out west. Continue reading

Fame Shed and The Gary Gacha

So first of all I should say, I know full WELL that it’s not called FAME SHED. However, there was a whole slew of conversation about how one says the name of this event, and someone had asked if it was called FAME SHED – hell I think Cajsa even did a poll.

The truth is, mnemonic devices are effective, and while there are more events on the grid than you can shake a stick at – the ones with names I can remember are the ones that I patronize. So – while I know it’s faMESHed – it’s Fame Shed to me.

And more importantly – I went shopping there because I remembered it. Oh and bcse Vaki  told me I should. Continue reading
