I hadn’t ever heard of The Trace Too until Cajsa linked to Ziki Quest’s blog. I feel a bit sad that I’ve probably missed out on something all this time, and now it will be leaving us. I am sadder, however, that it seems another SLer is struggling with health issues.
I don’t know the person who’s sim this is, nor the people doing a little fundraiser. But what I do know is what it’s like to feel helpless while someone you care about is ill across the globe, to watch and worry about the worst, and how it feels when the worst happens. All of that I’ve got in spades. So I went over to shoot some pics and promote their effort to remember their friend.

An early studio day has me questioning whether I need more coffee or what. My shadows have been wonked since about 7 am, with my shadows having shadows. I’m not sure why, but I have decided to call it art and roll with it. I can remember when it was the case of “some had shadows and some had none”. Well now I have more shadows than you.

So HAIR FAIR 2015 is going to be kicking off in TWO DAYS! That’s RIGHT TWO DAYS OMG ARE YOU READY?!! This is the big one, the one annual event that curls my toes and melts my butter. This is the one. Ok wait, Shoe Fair does too. Ok THIS IS ONE OF TWO….ok wait…
Nevermind. You get the point. One of the great things I personally love in SL is the easy with which we can style our hair, in various styles of the same shade or simply be ALL OVER THE PLACE – whatever suits our fancy. Hair Fair is a cornucopia of opportunity to be creative with our look and a portion of EVERY purchase this year goes to WIGS for KIDS which is a great organization.
So what’s the BEST way to get ready? 1. Join the Demo group. Events can be a nightmare to shop when they’re jammed and being part of the demo group lets you try on EVERYTHING before you go, so you can make your shopping list after having properly tried everything on. I am uncommonly good at waiting. I do not know why; I do not have any particular fondness for delayed gratification. I would just as soon never have to wait at all. Nonetheless, I have so many ways to make the time pass that waiting does not bother me. I usually bring a book to read everywhere I go in case there are unanticipated delays. Sometimes there are delays long enough that I finish the book, but I still have distractions. I watch people going by and compose descriptions of them. I try to note all the details, the type of clothing, the fabrics and patters, the hair, makeup and accessories. You should try it sometime. It is an entertaining way to people watch. Sometimes, I get caught out staring, so I simply smile and say something like “I was admiring your scarf, is it silk?”
There are some fashion events coming soon and I have been waiting and waiting and waiting. One, Collabor88, opens in an hour. The other, Penumbra’s Spring/Summer Fashion Week opens on May 16th. While waiting for Collabor88 to open, I am taking a bath, listening to Art Pepper playing saxophone and hoping my candles do not set my curtains alight.
One of the highlights at Collabor88 already is this broken chair in the foreground. It is from {and} that contains several poses and animations. The quality of the animations and poses is amazing and you will see that in another post that I already shot but have not uploaded to Flickr yet. I figured I better wear some clothes when I am posing in the chair.

Adam n Eve released appliers for the Lelutka mesh head and I had to try them out this morning. I wasn’t feeling like getting dressed. Who knew that I’d end up feeling not doing nothing for the rest of today, and this would be the sum of my accomplishments today? Well, it could be worse.
I could’ve said the word FUCK a record number of times in meetings today.
Oh wait, that actually happened. Nevermind. Oh well, I never claimed not to have a potty mouth.
