Flowery look :)

Happy Sunday, everyone 🙂

I’ve got other awesome items from the Love Donna Flora event that i would like to show you. Really great stuff: you, fantastic creators, have all my respect first because you decided to join this important event, then because you did it with such style, offering amazing creations.

So here’s this flowery vintage look of mine which i adore and i hope you’ll appreciate. The pictures location is the beautiful Love Donna Flora sim.

Cats and Whimsy

aug01_012

I fell for the whimsical dress from CIA Designs that is on sale at Love Donna Flora as soon as I saw those cats peeking over the black line. I love polka dots in the first place and polka dots and cats and this entire feeling of fun and whimsy is charming.

Let Me Introduce You To AUGUST FLUX Round

The FLUX Event this month is a Tiki Trailer park kitsch theme that is irresistible. The shopping kiosks are located on the various sandbar islands and up the hill in the trailers overlooking the whole build.

It’s a bloggers paradise with lots of great vignettes waiting for you to take pics of island and beachy themed fun, plus there are lots of goodies from props to clothes and more that I’m enjoying this round.

Dead Dolls has released a very simple but perfect summer sundress that happens to coordinate awesomely both in style and tone with the cherry red heels BOOM released at COLLABOR88 this month (PS ENDING SOON in case you didn’t go). Continue reading

Forgotten City on a good computer

Forgotten City (1)

Once, a long time ago, Jackal took me to see Forgotten City. I could barely move, and barely rez any of it, but what I saw was pretty memorable. I went back on my husband’s not-a-Mac and stared around in awe at the neat build. Some things in Second Life withstand time, even though we live dog years in this realm.

I still find the meditation upon fortune and misfortune, growth and decay, very interesting. From the crumbling lands nearest the water, the tall pillars rise that support the towering manses. It’s quite a visual metaphor. I love it when Second Life makes me think! A few more pictures of the build (and outfit credits) are behind the cut.

I’m seeing red

Sometimes I feel like the reason I have so little to say, especially when it comes to blogging is because my son talks enough for everyone and their cousins. Seriously, it’s like non stop all day. It’s really driving me crazy. It’s like that episode of Family Guy where Stewie is all “mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy” “WHAT” “hi teehee”.  So, when I blog I just wanna get in the zone and listen to music and edit pictures. When it’s time to actually write about it I’m all zombied out.

Do people actually read big long blog post?

Love Donna Flora Musical Benefit

It's time NOW

It’s time NOW

A huge musical extravaganza has been organized by Duncan Bradders at the lovely Zenzibar club on Zenshi. Opening at 2 PM SL with Dj Nathan and Maluy as host, there will be a full seven hours of music and dancing to celebrate Squinternet Larnia and raise funds for her health care needs.

The benefit will be streamed at the Love Donna Flora! sim as well, so if you cannot get to one place, you can go to the other.

Who Are You In Other Worlds?

I got to wondering, over my breakfast, what my SL friends are like in their other worlds? I don’t play a LOT of video games, but I do play World of Warcraft and I’ve created a cast of characters that, despite the lack of customization in that world, all have a BIT of Gidginess to them. I thought I’d show you mine, and hope that maybe for fun, you’d show me yours. Continue reading

Fairy Lights and Forest Nights

I’m not actually an elf. I’m pretending to be one. I’m an elf who had plastic surgery to get her ears fixed. Now I regret it, and I’ve returned to the forest in search of my pointy eared brethren.  I decided if I was going to pretend to be an elf who had plastic surgery and now was returning to the forest in search of my pointy eared brethren, I’d need a forest. And that’s a funny story. Continue reading

What if you made an entire avatar look from just one sim?

What if I made an avvie from just one sim? (2)

One day, peeking down from Jackal’s sky platform, I realized that Nouveau has somehow cornered lots of awesome shops. It made me realize that without much trouble, I could put together an entire avatar from just one sim. I made a pretty Nouveau princess, and it was fun. And then I thought, wouldn’t it be neat to see what other people do?

So here’s my challenge: What if you made an entire avatar look (skin, hair, eyes, outfit, everything) from just one sim?

It can be any sim you like, and you can do this challenge as many times as you like using a different sim each time. Why not?

Here’s my look. I tried to fit in all the shops, although I’m waiting for Miss Roslin to finish making the new Luxuria!

The Grid Needs More Green Shoes

jul30_002

Siddean Munro asked me if I thought making her mules in the colors of the Italian flag for Love Donna Flora would be cheesy. I said of course not, because after all, the grid needs more green shoes. What luscious shoes these are, too. Available in Italian Red, Green and White at Love Donna Flora.

Green it is! My favorite color, I love the rich, bold green in this top from Milk Motion for Collabor88. I could play with the colors of the flowers, but I loved it just plain green.
