Wasabi Pills To Start Your Morning

I’m up early logging studio time for you this morning. I decided I need to get the lead out and make sure you’ve seen ALL the amazing do’s at the hair fair this year that I’ve got, and I can’t leave out your morning dose of WASABI pills. They are DELICIOUS! Continue reading

Yes, Joy, a yellow dress is more than a yellow dress.

In the world of safe hues, like black, red and white, yellow shouts: "Look at me. I'm happy!"

My mother always told me to dress up when I felt tired, to dress happy when I was sad, and to recognize that sometimes clothing is more than something to safeguard modesty, provide warmth and protection from the elements, solicit attention, or display personal style and taste. Sometimes it is also a therapeutic carapace, a shell that hides our weaknesses and counters our grief and sorrow with defiant counterpoint.

Joy Sewing of the Houston Chronicle wrote a fun article called Why a yellow dress is more than a yellow dress. Could anyone who is feeling low find a more perfect carapace to project power, strength and joy than this bold, yet minimalist, sheath from Thalia Heckroth™?

New To Me MURRAY at Hair Fair

New to me Hair shop MURRAY is on my list of great styles and BEAUTIFUL beige blondes. I discovered them at HAIR FAIR this year and I can’t recommend them enough. The styles all fit my Lelutka head perfectly, and the colors and so gorgeous. I’m wearing one of the light blonde tones – I really love them.

I picked up a new skin applier today – an old favorite brand released a new skin and I just had to have it. Lara Hurley’s CINDY skin is gorgeous. I recommend you check it out.

That’s it for me from the studio! See you girls later!

Gidge is Wearing:

Buckle Up for Hair Fair

Buckled Up for Hair Fair

I decided it is time to buckle up for Hair Fair and how better to do that than with the fabulously buckled dress from Zenith at Collabor88 this month. I added the incredible Bastet arm bands from Pixicat that were released at Arcade about 6 months ago and a pair of sunglasses from this month’s Baiastice releases for Collabor88.

Long Styles from Hair Fair in the Frame

Hair Fair in the Frame

This new top and skirt from Hucci for Collabor88 is just the ticket for showing off some of the longer hair styles from Hair Fair. It’s short, cheeky and free of collars (or even fabric) to interfere with the hair.

I had college roommates from Malaysia who wore sarongs all the time. It was amazing how active they could be without their sarongs coming loose. They showed me the proper way to wear a sarong and even gave me several sarongs over time, but I never quite got the knack and always worried when I had my hands full that my sarong might come loose without a hand to grab it. No such worries with the Hucci sarong though. Pixel knots stay in place.

I’ve got new hair and a perfect summer dress from FISSION – why on earth would I stay in ! I can sleep when I’m dead, I tell you!

If you haven’t popped over to FISSION lately let me get you a taxi – it’s a great shop for retro-inspired clothes that are fun and not stuffy or boring. I highly recommend you get over there for something fresh and new in your SL wardrobe, you won’t be sorry. Continue reading

Let Me Sing You The Song Of My Hair Fair People

Ok it might not have a song. IT SHOULD HAVE A SONG. But even without a song, it’s rather nice. Today I went about in a new to me brand called STEALTHIC who is lovely to wear – especially because their blonde is gorgeous and beige.  Continue reading

Selected Short Cuts and Updos at Hair Fair

Hair Fair opened at midnight and in the overwhelming excitement of “shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen…beautiful hair” it is easy to forget the purpose of Hair Fair. It isn’t actually all about the hair. Well, actually it is, but the hair it is about it not made of pixels. It’s made of love.

Flipping For Hair Fair

Flipping For Hair Fair

Hair Fair 2016 opened at midnight and I was so excited I was flipping with joy. Also because I wanted to show off my lovely espadrilles from Mutresse released at Collabor88. Wow! Autocorrect turns Mutresse into Mutters, now that’s one for the books.

Hair Fair is always the most anticipated fundraising event of the year. There are several reasons for it. First, it’s hair. Second, every year the planning and execution is better than the year before. Now, when you may have thought they reached the pinnacle of perfect planning last year and they could not possibly get better, but yet, somehow they did. The biggest change this year was not inward, but was instead on the Hair Fair web site where you will find a gallery of all the shops and all the hairs, a guide to Hair Fair at your fingertips.

Quick Snaps @ Hair Fair

The theme is a movie lot of middle America. It’s all very fun with rows of tract housing for the stores. I know with the guide, you could just pop in and out, but don’t forget how much fun it is to see what they designers get up to decorating their shops.
