The problem with having a cold is getting behind. It’s been four days since I did my last Fast Five and so much worthy stuff has been posted since then. I hope I can winnow it down to just five. It won’t be easy. I am going to cheat by adding this link to Daniel Voyager’s List of Viewers that support Server-Side Baking. He does not review or evaluate them; he just lists them, so I am going to pretend that does not count as a post.

I have been under the weather the last few days. It’s funny how our emotions effect our health. I am sure that my feeling sick is more about today being the anniversary of my dad’s death than any little bacteria sneaking up on me. Oh well, even if I don’t feel up to shooting some pictures, I do have enough energy to browse the blogs for some highlights. Hope you like them.

1. From the Rooftops for Gidge Uriza: I have been telling Gidge for a long time that she should write about about parenting autistic children. So many “experts” pretend that there is something transformative in the struggle, that people are ennobled by their experience. I suppose that could be comforting. You’re changing diapers for an 8 year old, but it makes you holy.

   Gidge has no such delusions and I think it would be a great comfort to parents who are overwhelmed with anxiety and frustration to have someone acknowledge that is really is hard and there’s a lot of shit, literal and figurative to deal with. I think someone needs to be honest and admit that sometimes parents get tired, cranky and frustrated and while it’s not noble, it’s honest.
   That is something Gidge does – and while she’s not writing that damn book yet, she is going to start a mutual support group. Sasy Scarborough wrote all about it and provides the link to add your name if you want to participate. You should check it out and share that info with friends who may need a reminder that they don’t have to be saintly to be good parents to autistic children.

There’s so much today, that I had my five before I even began browsing feed.There’s a video preview of Fantasy Faire that is stunning, a great Disney Bound post and info on an advertising campaign you might be interested in.

1. SL DisneyBound – Merida: I want the hair. This is simply stunning and  one of my favorite from all the DisneyBound challenge posts yet. I love everything Elisaokkbye did from the dress to the hair to the pose. 
2. A Secret Setting in the Viewer? The folks over at Firestorm/Phoenix are having altogether too much fun. You simply must look at the photos. The last one from Whirly Fizzie had me laughing myself silly.
3. The Drax Files Episode Four – Fantasy Faire/RFL: Draxtor Depres interviews Zander Greene, one of the organizers of Fantasy Faire. Zander is an incredible interview, articulate and expressive in his language. The video is beautiful highlighting much of the beautiful of Fantasy Faire.
4. A Tiny Roleplay Misunderstanding in Second Life – Honour McMillan has been blogging about travel in SL for a long time and often posts wonderful explorations of different sims. This time, however, something went awry.
