Peek a Boo!

mar30_006

So this is an outfit to wear clubbing. The sleek, almost mirror-like pants look great under the moving colored lights over the dance floor. The top is about as sexy and revealing as is legal and yet cool, comfortable and perfect for dancing. I imagine that little bow could tempt someone to pull one end, but smart tailoring has stitched it closed so there won’t be an murder on the dance floor tonight.

The super sheer lace is lined along the facing, providing strategic opacity just where it is needed. Little chain button closures flirt with exposure but are perfectly secure. Because it is sheer, it has to fit perfectly and it does. There is no alpha with this top because the point is exposing the skin.  Continue reading

Going For Baroque

Mar27_003

Yes, I went for baroque, combining a sweater, skirt, collar, leggings and jewelry for a lace on lace style that is as extravagant as it is elegant.  The skirt I have worn before, a favorite of mine from Baiastice. It is just the right length and has a nice high waist to fit well with so many tops. The sweater from h.m.a.e.m. is divine and cleverly comes with the alpha in two lengths in case you want to show some midriff. She made a black sweater with white lace also and I may go back and pick it up.  Continue reading

Wee Little Me

mar25_001

I stopped by at Avatar Games this morning and got to feel like a wee little tyke. The back wheel of the velocipede dwarfs my avatar.

mar25_006

Luckily I was dressed in some casual clothing suitable for climbing mountains of books. The casual tank is from Pink Outfitters. I was tempted by the cuteness of this purse from MiaMai for The Critter Society arcade. With pandas, fox, raccoons and other critters in a rainbow of colors, even the Grinch would find one to tease out a smile.

Let Me Give Your Heart A Break

I Know You Are

Watching the temperature drop has made me a cranky girl. I want my daffodils and spring days. I am ready now, for winter to be gone and the newness of the world to open up like oxygen to us all. Continue reading

Thank You, Fashion For Life

mar17_004

The G Field dress for Fashion For Life has wonderful details like the bows on the back.

I am the youngest of six children. My five older siblings were all married by the time I turned four, so they basically doted on me like a pet or just one more child to play with their kids. They sometimes squabbled over me, all of them wanting me to come spend the weekend with them. I was pretty happy to go with any of them, but my oldest brother doted on me the most. I think it was because he saved me from drowning when I was three. My sister had brought me with her to the lake but was not paying attention when I got hung up in the weeds and slipped under water. Luckily my brother was there and noticed I was missing, ran in and found me unconscious, but obviously still alive. I do not remember any of this, but the story has been told to me over and over, though never by my brother. He was never one to boast. Instead, he took me swimming the next day and again and again until I grew up so at ease in the water that I would think nothing of running out the front door and swimming across the lake for a snack. English Muffins

mar14_007

One Bad Pixel released a new mini-collection with a lot of wardrobe basics and this fabulous slip dress. I love dresses like these, light-weight with body-skimming fabrics that float gently, falling on your curves lightly and moving with your body. The large floral print is lush and the colors are so tempting and delicious.  Of course, with the mesh made by SLink’s Siddean Munro and the textures created by Adam n Eve’s Sachi Vixen, they are bound to be well made, beautifully fitted and textured.  Continue reading

I Am Doll Parts

DOLL PARTS

I was excited to get a chance to check out this mesh hybrid avatar from a.e. meth for Skin Fair 2013. I have a Bloom Doll avatar which was a fun bobbled headed adventure, but this is something different – more of the vein of those who love the variety of dolls of the world and dressing them up. Seven Facts

mar12_004

The top and skirt from Tee*fy are emblematic of the New Romance theme at this month’s Collabor88. I could not resist the oh-so-feminine fishnet gloves from Adore & Abhor. They are old, but they are wonderful.

Berry has asked for folks to participate in her Seven SL Facts Meme and as they saying goes, “Let no good meme go unpublished,” so here goes.

1. I own the same 512 sm piece of land I bought back in 2007 when I joined SL. It’s on the Linden Ocean and I will never let it go.

2. One of my favorite things to do in SL is playing in the ocean with my 1L sailboat I bought at Enkythings my first week in SL.

Day to Night

Mar09_003

When we can change clothes with a click of button, carrying our entire closet with us wherever we go, we aren’t burdened with the challenge of trying to dress for the office and a date with one outfit. However, I thought it might be a fun thing to try anyway. I will concede the skirt is short for the office, but overall, I think this made a fairly good office look. I wore a lovely structured jacket from Elate with a snug waist that flows into a petal-like near peplum. I added a big fluffy bow from Yummy! to add a touch of modesty to the bodice. The bow was a pale mint, but I tinted it to limit my shades of green to two, not three. Both of these finds are from the March Collabor88.

Mar09_004

But when five o’clock rolls around, the jacket is coming off and that fluffy bow is being rotated to hang over the shoulder, so the gorgeous and sexy bandeau style bodice on this fabulous mini from Cracked Mirror is visible in all its glory. You can find this dress at faMESHed.

New Romance

mar08_005

This is the month many of you will fall in love with Collabor88 all over again. The theme is New Romance and it is rife with hearts and flowers, frills and furbelows and overall romantic femininity. It’s so sweet and girlie, you will have to brush your teeth after visiting. The epitome of the triple strawberry sundae with whipped cream and a cherry on top that is this New Romance showcase is the delightful Shabby Chic confection from Nylon Outfitters. First, let me say Brava! to Nylon Pinkney for recognizing that mesh is not the be-all and end-all of SL design and for opting instead to use the best option to realize her design. She has a lovely assortment of dresses in a lovely challis with a large, old-fashioned floral print. With them, she adds a lovely sheer lace blouse. She uses mesh for the skirt panel, but lets the dress fit snuggly and the see-through lace work with struggling with alphas.

mar08_001

I headed over the Visionaria for the Insight Forest Photo & Art Exhibition. It was a lovely spot and I could not resist shooting my post photos before walking through the gallery to enjoy the fabulous art work. There are ten artists exhibiting and you definitely should stop by and see their work.
