Lately I have been having more trouble shooting on location than usual, but I really wanted to get off my platform, so I hopped over to Sky Neist Point and found this little beach and took a few snaps. I was dressed for wandering with this lovely linen dress with embroidery from Gizza. The jacket is attached to the dress and has a HUD giving three color options for the jacket. I am always excited when a blogger becomes a clothing designer. I think of Milla Michanaga who formed MichaMi and Elysium Elide who started elymode and recognize that both of them focused long and hard on construction quality. I think that, being bloggers, they had this pre-formed set of standards that created a daunting hurdle to overcome before they began to release. Having noted construction flaws in other work, they felt an obligation to do as they say and held themselves to higher standards. So, when Thalia Heckroth™ told me she was moving into clothing design, I was excited. This is her first release and I am pleased to say she continues the tradition.

Second Life fashion is full of moments of synchronicity and this is one. It all started with the dress from Baiastice. It was released in many solid colors and prints, but I was most drawn to this earth-toned batik. I was fidgeting about, trying to choose hair and MiaMai released some gorgeous turbans with an Afro-centric inspiration and this tobacco version is perfect with the dress. Meanwhile, Kunglers released a necklace in a coffee color and of course, coffee and tobacco are the peanut butter and jelly of louche lotus-eaters. And then, if that were not enough, PXL Creations released a Jazz quartet of skins for Rhapsody. All events have no causal bearing on each other, but they are uncannily in synchronicity.
The combination of pieces made me think of Ballaké, a classic of African Jazz by Bembeya Jazz National— after all, Jazz developed in America from African roots and American music traditions. Then it migrated back to Africa and found a new iteration. These pieces draw their inspirations from Indonesia and Africa but are modified and changed in translation just as the music was. So when Siddean Munro released the new Slink Physique mesh body, I rushed to message PXL Creation’s Hart Larsson to urge him to make appliers as soon as possible. Since he just released a new skin, I was hopeful. Sure enough, the new appliers have been released. Best of all, they will apply his skins to the body, hands and feet, so there’s no need for triple HUDDing to change skins. I eagerly put them on and then pushed the buttons and
nothing happened. I sent an panicky IM to Hart – “It does’t work!” He said do this, do that, take off this, put on that and I think he was beginning to freak out, too, when all of a sudden I pressed the special breast customization buttons and there it was. I was doing it wrong! It worked perfectly from the beginning, but I was not pressing the right buttons. So, to make it work, press the silver buttons that select small or natural breasts and freckled small or natural breasts. That big circle in the center is just there to show you the skin tone. So now you know!
There is a wee gacha festival opened up on Jersey shore and I popped over this morning to distract myself from my impending day of being an adult. While I wasn’t able to do MUCH shopping, I knocked off one item from my list immediately.
The glasses from Hopscotch are truly must have. This way ladies, you can tell if he’s got the goods – in his inventory.
The hair is from Alice Project and I think I forgot she has a new HUD. I like it better. SO SIMPLE EVEN GIDGE CAN USE IT!

The bright lemon and lime colors in the top and skirt from Tee*fy make me happy. It makes me think of hot summer days and cold summer drinks. I have a real love for gin & tonic and that crushed fresh lime is so wonderful. I love salads made with some fresh squeezed lemon juice or lime juice and generally buy a 3 pound bag of lemons every month. I used to buy about a dozen limes every month, too, but they have gotten too expensive, doubling in price since last year.
I built a fort in my living room for no better reason than that I could. I brought my records and some snacks, and determined to live in my fort for the night. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
I was hearing the end of The Jerk in my head as I planned it. “And some watermelon, and this record player….and THAT’S ALL I NEED, and these sandwiches…”
