And Then I Fell Into an Eaters Coma

I don’t think I’ve actually ever personally experienced the FOOD COMA (or EATERS COMA) that some people get, especially on holidays like Thanksgiving. Eating that much simply makes me nauseous.

Luckily, in SL I was able to experience Eaters Coma for the first time with no ill effects, as it’s a quirky named hair store I’m trying out for the first time. I’ve been aware of them for some time, but maybe just my fear of the RL food coma kept me away. /slaps head. OH WHAT A FOOL I HAVE BEEN! HAIR FAIR 2014 is such a great place to try out new to you creators, every year I fall in love with someone new. Continue reading

Ison Will Never Be Royal. Or WILL THEY…

Ison released three LORDE themed ‘dos at Hair Fair 2014. I like all three.  Possibly because I wore my hair like the one above in RL for about five years.  I was trying on new things from Collabor88 and this is what happens when a blogger has on too many things she likes. She just ends up wearing them all.  If I hadn’t worn the shirt then my boobies would be hitting you in the face first thing Sunday Morning. NO ONE WANTS THAT. Continue reading

After a Long Day At HAIR FAIR

My long night running the gauntlet of Hair Fair, in and out of every shop, buying, making plans to buy later, demoing, trying to look pretty, all of these things created an intense desire to find a mellow spot to relax and take in my spoils.

CHEEKY PEA has created a perfect summer spot for summer repose with the WHITBY set. You can pick it up at the Season’s Story event, and it’s a great spot to relax or hang out with friends. Delicious beverages are also available. Continue reading

While I Am Sorting

0712_002

While I am sorting the hair from Hair Fair by style so I can shoot the pictures for you, I took a few snaps of this great dress from Thalia Heckroth™. This is only her second release and already she’s working in prints and not doing strapless. That’s ambition. In the distance, you can see some of Half-Deer’s Thomson Gazelles that are available at Collabor88. Continue reading

Hair Fair, I Am In You

I put on my most sensible walking shoes and ran the gauntlet at the blogger preview of HAIR FAIR 2014 this evening. Hair Fair, why do you make me love you so? You are everything a girl who has so many needs for different hair could want.

Hair Fair is my favorite annual event and I’m so excited, I can’t decide where to spend my lindens next.  The build this year is ADORABLE, and moving around is a breeze with this great lay out. Continue reading

On Safari at Hair Fair

0711_005

This gorgeous belted dress from Emery can be found at Collabor88 in several earth tones.

Hair Fair opens tomorrow. While DJing the opening party, I hunted far and wide stalking the wild hair, the short hair, the curly hair, the long, straight, curly, fuzzy, naggy, shaggy, ratty, natty, oily, greasy, fleecy, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen, knotted, polka-dotted, twisted, beaded, braided, powdered, flowered, and confettied, bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!

Since joining Second Life®, I have never missed Hair Fair and have to say this is my favorite build. The build is just a whole lot of hair product and I cracked up when I sounded out the name of the product. The stores are inside the product boxes and the creativity of the designers in decorating the boxes is another part of the fun of Hair Fair.  Continue reading

Rest from Vain Fancies

I am full of relaxation today. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because stressful things ended, maybe it’s a new attitude. Maybe it’s just Friday.  Regardless, it’s a good thing to feel peaceful inside your own head.

I have several cool things happening on pixel Gidge today. The first one is this lovely bed, from Sway’s. You hear from time to time on plurk “Waaaah we’re sick of events waaaaa” and while maybe some are, many are not. However, there’s not doubt that I definitely miss mainstore releases. I miss having a lovely gauntlet of shops that I couldn’t wait for their next IN STORE release. Sway appealed to our love our Gacha as well as our desire to shop at mainstores by releasing a really adorable bed, the Dreamfloat hanging bed.  Continue reading

A Get Away Spot

When I was growing up my Dad’s friend had a trailer down on the river. There was a little community of ramshackle trailers of various ilk, and on the weekend, everyone would head down there for some time, sitting, relaxing, fishing, or whatever.

A lot of card games were played, and rather random foods consumed. Chips with strange dips, donuts and maybe a hot dog might make up your lunch. It just all depended on who you were visiting when it was time to eat something. Continue reading

What City People Think Country Folk Wear

jul08_002

The Real Housewives of New York traveled to Missoula, Montana, because nothing pumps up the drama like making a bunch of women who can barely tolerate each other travel together and be in each other’s company for days on end. Normally the women of New York are impeccably dressed for wherever they go, but with a few exceptions, the RHONY crew did not pack well for Montana. They were more Ralph Lauren New West than the real West. When they went to the rodeo, more than one wore a white prairie skirt. Rodeos are dusty and dirty events — and let’s not forget port-a-potties — where white skirts are downright silly. Watching, I realized I was seeing what city people think country folk wear. Either that or they all wanted to be Laura Ingalls once upon a time.
