Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week wraps up today, though the shops will remain open for the month. Today I am wearing a top and skirt by Glitter called Lauren. It comes with a HUD that allows you to pick six texture options for the top and the skirt. I went for the solid black top and the black skirt with a pinstripe inset. The top is very short and just barely covers the nipples, leaving the underside of the breasts bare. That’s not my preference, so I added a bodysuit from Sn@tch, using their applier for the Slink Physique so I did not have to worry about the Glitter top fitting over the Sn@tch top. Besides, I think the teal and black lace adds a nice touch.  Continue reading →

Penumbra Fashion Week continues for just a few more days. I decided to feature another dress from A la Folie. This one is Gloria and I chose it for a few reasons. The sunny color is a delight and a wonderful contrast to the cloudy skies. I also love pencil skirt and the Sixties styling. It makes me think of Oscar de la Renta from that era. Then, it is the 21st, which means 21 Shoe, which means the gorgeous shoes that are after the cut are for sale for this day only, and this dress and those shoes seem made for each other.

The skirt and top from Zanze for Spring Summer Fashion Week is loose, airy and oh so summery.

 

 

Zanze has a large collection of fabulous outfits for Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week. My favorite is this Strathmere skirt and top.  I love the loose, breezy easiness and the bold, bright colors.

150518_002Second Life’s Penumbra Spring/Summer Fashion Week continues through the 23rd. A la Folie had a big collection including this adorable dance dress, MADNESS. It has a HUD that allows you to choose from six textures for the dress, and six colors for the ruffles and the coordinating shoes and jewelry (not shown). This made me think of the One Note Samba – built on one note, but the other notes are sure to follow.

This is just a little samba, built upon a single note
Other notes are sure to follow but the root is still that note
Now this new one is the consequence of the one we’ve just been through
As I’m bound to be the unavoidable consequence of you.

The Necessity of Bikinis In SL

I’ve probably bought more bikinis than anything else in SL and let’s face it, there’s a reason. Living an idyllic waterside life is something a lot of us don’t have, and even when we aren’t ocean front as I am at this time, we usually have a pool in SL or a friend does. This Prey jacket for Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week goes over a coordinating corset. It seems like a capelet with short sleeves. It has long points that drop down and  from which a silver spikes are suspended. Here you can see the point drops to the mid back.

I have spent a good portion of my life on buses; school buses, tour buses, Greyhound and Trailways buses and public transit buses. Of course, that means I have also spent a good portion of my life waiting for buses.

Among the many places I have waited, the most interesting, entertaining, freaky, funny, scary and downright wild place is Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis on Saturday night. I would get off work at the planetarium just as the demi-monde was coming to life, late enough that missing one bus meant a long wait for the next one. A woman alone was often presumed to be on the stroll, so I had the “pleasure” of turning down many propositions. I am told that the infamous Block E where I would wait has been leveled and a new entertainment mall has replaced it. I suppose that would make for a more comfortable wait for the bus, but there was something vibrant, vital and exciting about Hennepin that I hope is never lost.

Of course, if this were Hennepin there would be at least three level of signs on every building and hundreds of people on the sidewalk.

Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week

Sonatta Morales has five special releases for Penumbra Spring Summer Fashion Week which opens on May 16th. I always look forward to Fashion Week. There are always more innovative and avant garde releases for Fashion Week, as though the event challenges the designers to do their best work of the season. Here is the official schedule for Fashion Week. There are 16 fashion shows coming up – a great week full of fashion.

Last year Whimsy Winx and Sasy Scarborough released on of their collaborations called Papier de Mode. It came with two pose sets, one with these pieces of paper with different bits of text and one blank. For fun, I added the Fashion Week logo and a few  words to the prop. I love it when a prop can be modified.

Back To The Beach

STELLAR just released new bathing suits for your SLINK bod and I had to go pick up a set so I could lounge around the beach at JUICY. It’s fun to mix and match colors and pink with green is one of my favorite combos.
