There I was, sitting in my own house, trapped in the clothes I wore yesterday. Funny story, I cleared my cache. Funnier story, it won’t reload my inventory. Or, wouldn’t earlier. Yesterday The Lab decided early AM was the perfect time for rolling restarts. I was sitting in my house, living my 2nd existence when I got a notice that I would be booted if I didn’t leave the sim in five minutes. My first thought was WHY IS GOGO RESTARTING THE SIM AT 7 AM? Alas, it wasn’t Gogo, she wasn’t online and then I realized it was The Lab.

Putting on the suit from ISON for Collabor88 this month, the wonderful song performed by Eartha Kitt came to mind. I tried to find it on YouTube for you, but it was not there. However, I found this beautiful interview with Eartha on love and compromise reminding me again what an amazing and vital woman she was. Even her speaking voice sounds like music.

This month’s Collabor88 theme is hibernation – that urge to stay home, warm and snug and sleep through the cold, bitter winter. Today is a rare snow day in Portland and I would love to hibernate at home, but I have to go out into the cold.. Brrr! So I am always a bit conflicted about studded clothing. Mainly because I have never worn studded clothing in my life, so I wonder how comfortable it is. Take this dress. I love the way the studs add visual interest, the flat planes of the skirt interrupted by the rows of studs – adding what feels like another dimension to the dress. But then I wonder, what does that feel like to sit on? Is it evenly spread enough so that it’s sort of like the bed of nails phenomenon, or do those little studs poke and prod? Maybe if you sit for just a minute it’s comfortable, but if you sit for a long time it is excruciating? Yeah, I actually spend time wondering what it would feel like for my pixel posterior to sit in my pixel dress with its pixel studs. But hey, it’s a great dress, isn’t it?
