Fashion For Life is starting in just a few days and this year looks to be bigger and better than ever. Not only will there be wonderful designs such as this dress from Clio, but the organizers seem to have taken everything learned from every event and incorporated it into their planning to make your experience as wonderful as possible. I read the article at the Fashion For Life website on what they are doing to combat lag and was so impressed by the thought and planning. Bookmark that article because it has useful tips for steps you can take to improve your experience as well. Now, back to the fashion.

Clio Cardiff is fond of color, bright and bold saturated color. So, when I was thinking about where to shoot her Berry dress, I immediately thought of Two Moon Island. Two Moons Island

I wandered around the beautiful Two Moons Island wearing a lovely purple suit from L’Abel called Chaya. The suit is a classic jacket and skirt with modern details such as the exposed zipper up the front, the bold shoulders and the belled sleeves.

Such a beautiful outfit deserves a truly spectacular place and Two Moons Island, home of the always inventive MiaSnow, is just that place. There’s nothing like strolling in the moonlight under two moons in a nebula filled sky to remind you how beautiful Second Life can be.

52 Weeks of Color — Indigo

It seems strange, yet fitting, that my first 52 Weeks of Color posting after coming home from the hospital is for the color Indigo. It immediately reminded me of a good friend, just a few years older than me, whose death last year shocked me with its suddenness. She was a true artist and often gave me pieces of her work. Her work hangs all over my home. Her last project was writing a young adult novel and I am slowly working my way through it, editing it for her family before they seek publication. It’s a slow process because when I read, I hear her voice and drift into remembrance. She was also a finder of odd and interesting books that she would give her friends. One that she gave me was an artist’s “memoir” of the color indigo. A strange and extraordinary book, I expect it is long out of print and possibly vanity-published as I cannot find it anywhere on the web to point you in its direction. That was one of her gifts – the art of finding strange, inexplicable and surprising books that could seem bizarre at first blush, but always were fascinating and fun reads. Indigo will always make me think of her – and the memories are wonderful.

Blooming in June

Oh, the Designer Showcase Network dropped another stunning dress on me. This lovely Hothouse Flower from Ingenue showed up in my inbox and reminds me how much I love Ingenue’s lovely vintage clothing. This dress, however, seems to indicate some new, more contemporary, styles are coming out as well.  The sculptie bodice is a delight and after increasing it just a bit to fit the bust, it was perfect. I also have to give her props for attaching the bodice to the right pec, leaving the spine and chest free for jewelry.

Paint Second Life Purple

Now this is purple. This will be a quick post as the dresses and shoes are again from Feel China and R2 and the skins from Curio, but I so enjoyed the lovely, bright dresses at Feel China and could not wait to share them with you. And don’t worry they come in many colors other than purple.

Paint Me Purple (More Purple)

So I was sent on a wild goose chase on Saturday. I saw a woman with adorable freckled skin that I didn’t recognize and asked her where she got it. She said it was from DrLife – so off I went to DrLife where there was not one freckled skin to be had. Actually the skins were lovely examples of the Japanese style of skins, hand-drawn, sweet and almost luminescent. I decided to wander around the store some more to see if the freckles were hiding up the stairs and found some fab hair, though the stair ramp does not work as it’s blocked by a prim so you must cam to see the upstairs of the shop.  It’s worth it. Look at that hair.

I found these dresses there, too, but suggest you go to the Feel China store directly because they’re in a vendor of 62 separate items. And with that I think I just revealed how far I can go when I am intrigued by a store.
