22769 has a beautiful conch shell in their “Fisherman’s Delight” gacha at The Arcade. They have two great gachas there, one for picnickers and one for fishing fans. I was thrilled to find it because the oldest family heirloom in my family is a large conch shell. My seventh great-grandfather picked it up on the beach almost 370 years ago while on his honeymoon in Barbados in 1649. It has been passed down ever since and my cousin, being the eldest son of the eldest son, has it in his living room on a buffet similar to this one from Fancy Decor (another Arcade find.)

Get Away
I took some respite at a mountain cabin for a day or two. I tried my hand at art and learned I’m just not very good at it. I also met a very cheeky snowman who seemed QUITE delighted to meet me.
I can’t say that I blame him. Continue reading

Hello Cold Weather
December is here and that means Christmas! and The Arcade! and it is up for debate which is more exciting. It’s so easy to go the red and green route for the holidays, but I resisted, buoyed by the gorgeous Camellia lights from {anc} over in the corner. I went for pinks and turquoises, think Miami meets Idaho. I liberally used the edit menu to tint my furnishings just a bit and even retexture a few things such as the runner on the side table. I know it’s a blend of modern and traditional that should clash, but it doesn’t. I think of Simon de Pury when I decorate, “Be bold, be brave, be amazing.” Why not mix modern settees with traditional cupboards and folk art and deco end tables? If you can make harmony of contradiction, then it’s not just bold, it is amazing.
On My Own
My typist seems to have remembered her place and has been more attentive in the past 24 hours. I appreciate it, as I’m a bit beholden to her to get very basic things done, like opening my inventory, going places, chatting with friends. She logs out and I’m trapped where she left me. There have been times that this wasn’t pretty. Continue reading
It’s Like Deja Brew All Over Again
Vixen Thibideau has launched a new EVENTS blog (I am spelling her name probably) and it’s called Eloquence SL. I’m always interested in GOOD events coverage, I enjoy SERAPHIM but I think that more GOOD coverage is a positive thing for shoppers and bloggers alike. Eloquence is currently having a launch event where many of the designers you know and love have put out free gifts, at the DEJA BREW cafe.
Any excuse to go to DEJA BREW I say. Continue reading
Orange You Glad You Stopped By…
In RL I don’t think I own a stitch of orange clothing and to be honest, I don’t own much of it in SL but when I saw these adorable and cheap skirts and tops from *CoKo* at the Okinawa Summer Festival, I just couldn’t pass it up. Don’t let the vendor fool you, they are actually textured really nice.

Hunts, Magic Shoes, And Reasons To Log In
This is a true story. I wanted an item at 22769. It was a hunt item. I couldn’t find it. It was one of my morning log in times, and usually I’ve got about 30 minutes to log in, dress, shoot, edit and post. I do this most days. I spent 20 minutes looking, got bitter, happened to find a different item, and left. I remembered that I hate hunts. I did however find this amazing dress, which I wasn’t looking for, for the Invitation Only Hunt? I don’t even know what that is. But this dress is a total score. Continue reading
