LivGlam had a Halloween Hunt on their sim last month and this lovely dress is something I picked up while exploring the nooks and crannies of the shops. I love how most of her outfits have a HUD for changing the color scheme. Today I’m wearing one of the purple options.

There is a reason designers and fashionistas encourage natural fabrics. They don’t trap moisture against your skin, “breathing” so that you feel dry and comfortable. They are warm when you need them to be warm and cool when you need them to be cool. Of course, that does not matter much in Second Life® where our pixel weather is always perfectly what we want it to be. But you know, natural fabrics still look right. As the temperatures take a dive in my RL it’s nice to be able dress pixel Gidge up in something toasty and warm. UFO at Collabor88 is filling the bill with this toasty winter cape.

In my last post here, one month ago, i talked about some gorgeousness from Collabor88 and now that the October collection is going to be replaced by a new one i would like to show you another fantastic item from C88 which i’m sure you all already know and probably got (such coolness should be a MUST in our inventory).
I’m talking about the Hesed Neck Warmer from .Shi: i like it so much i decided to create a whole look (skin, make-up, hair, clothes, accessories) starting from it. And i love what came out.
So, i’ll shut up now and show you the pictures, then all the credits.
I love every single piece of this outfit, i don’t want to take it off anymore XD

I was underwhelmed with Materials the first few releases I was introduced to. I don’t mean that as an insult, but as a consumer when you hear creators raving about something for weeks and then you see and think “Oh, that’s all it is? Shiny?” it’s hard to disguise your let down.
I definitely agree that items with materials have more lustre, but other than some furniture items (leather) I just didn’t see the OOOMPH or a real reason to rave like it was the second coming. Continue reading

MiaMai has released a gorgeous little cocktail dress that twinkles. It twinkles and shines. With materials, it really twinkles. This makes it kind of addictive, watching the light play over the dress. It’s so fun to watch that it’s almost a flaw – addictive!
It’s also flexible – because you could remove the flexi skirt and wear it as a slim sheath – I love the scalloped hem.
I have three articles in this month’s AVENUE magazines, starting with this one about Second Spaces and the imaginative creator behind Second Space, Elle Kirshner. The article, Caught In the Act of Living talks about how good she is at creating lived in spaces that feel homey and warm.
My second article is a profile of SL architect Rix SpyKer who is one of the busiest people you never heard of. SpyKer is one of the custom builders who create the venues for many public events. Most of the time, these custom builders for events only get noticed when they fail, but the ones who do their job well… The article is a called Building a Dream which is exactly what he does.
In Unia: The Method to the Madness I wrote a little about the upcoming opening of Unia – a massive immersive mystery/game/puzzle/story/world from MadPea. This will be bigger than any MadPea production before and there’s a lot of excitement about that, but I was more fascinated by the process of taking the story from a little thought cloud and turning it into the prime, scripts and pixels that give it form and substance. It’s going to be a doozy of an event and everyone should go – but first they should read this and maybe get a glimpse of the massive undertaking this all is.
I always forget why I don’t wear mesh eyelashes until I go to process pictures where I was wearing them. The demon eyes in my shadow amuse me, yet, it’s not EXACTLY what I was going for. I suppose it could be that I’m being shadowed by my demons. Let’s go with that. Continue reading
I am always thrilled by designers who do not take their inspirations too literally, but instead use them as a springboard to develop something completely unexpected. Such is the case with Valentina Evangelista of Valentina E. who used the idea of the poisoned apple in Snow White to come up with this dress. Released in quite dangerous shades of green, red and black, it contains many of the elements that suggest danger from the snakeskin it’s made of to the sinuous femme fatale design. It is a creative expression of the inspiration and totally unexpected.
